kids being cheated

my 14 yr old was cheated out of a win in a nite ch cast fri. night by three so called adults. First drop cut loose and all dogs strike and some cars come by and you could not hear the dogs for a min and when they got by the men started treeing there dogs so she took last tree and when they got there her dog was split and the judge minused her for dog not being at that tree and he was 2 hundern yards past those dogs and the judge would not split tree her dog they go to score first tree and she finds a possom and they say there was a coon in the tree but know one could show her the coon so they circle that tree and make her retree her dog and go to him find a coon next drop the judges dog trees a possom so he scrachs her the other dogs are treeed on a den tree they get them off and cut them loose again the two females tree and one is on a tree and dog 2 is on another tree that tie togather but they did not score as one tree they cir. one and plus one her dog is about 100 yrds been treed about twenty mins. they go to him and they find a coon .last drop of the night cut loose two females strike and trail left male dog strikes above where they did and trails to top of hill they tree females and she trees her dog the females are on sep. trees so they look for 20 min. and find nothing yet her dog has been treed 20 min or longer and find a coon yet her dog shows all three coons she lost the cast by them minus her on thing that they said she done wrong by not split treeing her dog i thought it was the judges call if the dogs are split when you get there and not minus points

groworg, you really need to brush up on things, your advice is just plain wrong too often.
Refusing to sign the card would only accomplish getting her scratched before her question can even be heard. That's it! That's all it would accomplish. It doesn't have any other effect on the hunt or the acceptance of the score card. So advising her not to sign the card is really bad advice.

As to the minus for leaving the tree as opposed to having been split all along, that cannot be answered by anyone who wasn't there. Maybe the judge had your daughters dog treed with the other dogs and believed the dog moved deeper after being treed. Or maybe the dog was split all along and should have been moved up to 125 and scored as split.
When I go in and find a dog is split, I just move it up and score it as a split tree. But if I was sure that dog was with the other 3 when called treed and then moved deeper and split after that, I'd have no problem minusing it for leaving the tree. I have no idea which it was and neither can anyone else who wasn't there.

I could tell you a story but I'm not going there. These incidents are few and far between. Believe me, people who cheat kids pay for it eventually in reputation or any other way God chooses to handle it. They can't escape Him and he knows all the facts and truths. Lucky for the rest of us these incidents are few and far between. We choose to take that chance when our kids compete against adults. The chance is well worth it in the end. Stick with it. Most coonhunters love to hunt with kids and young people.

Now this is just me but...

I started competition coonhunting when I was 16. My first cast and first time at a competition hunt was against two guys with 52 years combined competition coonhunting experience and I won by my dog getting by herself with the coon. My advise would be to make sure she knows the rules inside and out. Once that's done, just stick with it, and you'll start beating even the ones that try to cheat ya. That's when it really gets fun. Ya get cheated and still woop em, that's what I'm talking about. Good luck and just know that it's going to happen but you just have to make sure you and your dog are better than they are. Then you can make up for the minuses.

Maybe im old fashioned but i wouldnt send my 14 year old daughter to the woods alone with a cast, to many idiots out there that care way to much about a win slip. Withot being there no way to tell if they took advantage of a kid or if her dog moved..

You or the MOH couldn't tell her to question a call?
Or to file a formal complaint?

There are a few folks on here that know if I see/hear cheating going on , I ain't keeping quiet ! LOL

KIDS CHEATED??

HECK I WAS CHEATED 28 YRS AGO{reading mi.}.PART OF THE REASON I DON'T GET INTO OR CARE FOR HUNTS AND/OR TITLED DOGS TO THIS DAY!!
15 YR OLD,MY FIRST HUNT.WON MY CAST WITH A REDTICK FEMALE WITH 600+ NO MINUS,NO CIRCLE.
AT TRUCK,JUDGE IS TOTALING SCORE CARD UP,SEE'S I WON.
STOPS AND SAYS "GOTTA ASK A FAVOR{TO ME}"."YOU CAN COME BACK AND WIN WITH THAT DOG ANYTIME,BUT ALL MY DOG NEEDS IS A 1ST.SO CAN YOU TAKE SOME CIRCLE AND I'LL TAKE PLUS POINTS"??
I WAS 15 FELT INTIMIDATED.NOT 1 ADULT IN THE CAST CARED OR STOOD UP FOR ME.I FELT PRESSURED AND LET IT HAPPEN.
28 YRS LATER,BET I'VE ONLY BEEN TO 5 HUNTS.
BURNS LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY....
THE HOUND I GOT NOW IS TWICE THE REDTICK.I .JUST DON'T CARE.

PAPERS DON'T TREE COON

I just re-read it. Tell me if I am seeing it wrong. She took 25 minus and scored on 3 coons all split ( 125+ ). The other dogs were not plussed on any coon, not even the one supposedly seen in the first tree with the possum and she still lost. If the fellow that is a MOH was just a spectator, then the MOH means nothing. I think there is more to this story. Why didnt you go in the woods with them? Who owns the dog she was hunting?

Yeah even taking last strike every drop the way I am reading it would be +450 -25 leaving +425. With only two other coon seen if they were the same dog with first strike and first tree both times they would have 450+ and whatever circle for the first tree.

And Clubs wonder why young folks dont want to participate. For that reason there, sick of being cheated. Thats the reason I dont participate in events anymore. The way I see it, since young people arent getting into the sport, Competion Coon Hunting will probably be a thing of the past in the next 20- 30 years....Ill save my $20 and use it for fuel, Ive got nothing to prove to Anybody.

The ? about who owns the dog was because the handler or the dog owner can ? the card.

It puts a sour taste in every ones mouth when you treat a kid that way.The week before she won her cast and the 3 gentlemen she drew said he was a blue dog man but she could convert him if the little dog was for sale but i bought this dog as a pup and gave him to my nefew and they argue over whoowns him but these two dont care who hunts him but love nor money could not buy him
