ive got a 3mth walker female and was wondering when you start training them to show and how ive never had a pup so any input would be helpful

the best time to start training it to show is after training it to tree a coon

Time to start now, just start slow. Just let pup get used to bench, collar, lead and being handled. Take it slow and once pup is used to this stuff start working on one thing at a time. You can start bench training younger than trying to start training in the woods. I believe it can help the dog to handle better also. Good luck and male it fun. Short sessions as first.

i agree. the earlier the better. but. if it wont hunt trail or tree what have you got? not saying you wouldnt hunt yours but i have seen show dogs only. sure they are pretty to look at but they arent bettering the breeds. its the only thing they will do. then people breed a pretty well built show dog to another and get a whole litter of nice looking possible cull dogs. and so on.. then a dog trader gets em and rips somebody off selling em. (probably some kid starting out). and they get discouraged and quit. i think they should have to pass a hunt test before they are allowed to be shown. and i know that wasnt what you asked. just my opinion and wanted to say it. sorry to offend. good luck with your pup

thanks for all the input guys. i showed my pup a kitten coon today i didnt encourage her right off didnt want it to scare her she barked a couple times i let her go at her own pace when she started barking alot then i encouraged her and she done a really good job.
ive messed with her trying to show her but she just wants to play so ill probly will wait on that till she listens better and aint so young.
