For basketball fans...who wins between Dream Team vs 2012 Olympic team

What`s your opinion on a game between these teams, in their prime? It would be hard to bet against Jordan, Bird, Magic, and the rest of this group. On the other hand, the 2012 team is loaded, and their size and athleticism is off the charts. We know no one is going to compete against this team, but who wins, and why, against the two teams! Just havin some fun.

the dream team wins. Reason is simple. Just as Scotty Pippin once said : When behind, or when backs against the wall, give the ball to Micheal and watch him go.

I think guys on the 2012 team could contain MJ somewhat! Michael Jordan was 6`6 and was about 210 lb. and LeBron is 6`8 and 250 lbs. I believe LeBron is faster, stronger, and can more than match him athletically! My concern for the 2012 team, could they handle the dream teams physical play? Barkley, Malone, Magic, Bird, Ewing, and Robinson would be throwing elbows and setting those hard picks every chance they got. My pick would be the DREAM TEAM!

Give the ball to mj and let him push off and walk as much as he wants and he is bound to score. Loved it when Iverson Schooled him. LOL, Was also Funny when he came back for the Wizards and they took the ball from him and he fell down and busted his lip then got on TV crying about it. LMAO !!

I would say you could take 12 players who were in the league at that time and didn't make the olympic team at that time and beat the 2012 team

Original Dream Team wins against the 2012 team. If the 2012 team had a healthy Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose and Chris Bosh I think it would be a very, very close game. Athletically the 2012 team would have an advantage but the 92 team would still have Jordan in his prime and that alone would probably be enough to win.

I don't care how healthly the 2012 team is they wouldn't even come close to beating the Dream Team. I'd say the Dream Team would win by double digits.

The Dream Team was the greatest collection of talent in any sport ever. In fact many on the 2012 team wouldn't have even been choosen for the Dream Team. The college all stars who got to participate in the practice actually won the first time they scrimaged against the Dreamers. That is the only game the Dreamers ever lost, a scrimage! The next day the Dreamers decided to get real and destroyed them and the rest is history!

As far as Lebron being able to handle MJ that silly talk there. The first time barkley set a pick on lebron he would be picking his candy @$$ up off the floor.

Well, I will disagree with you on that! Lebron is 6`8 and 250 lbs.
and runs through people on picks. Have you seen that guy run the floor? He runs like a deer. There`s an old saying, a good big man, will beat a good little man every time! JMO

Pure speculation as to which team would win, 2012 team has superior athleticism, but the Dream Team played the game better, at this point Jordan is the best I have ever seen, believe that the Dream Team has the better inside game and the best clutch player ever in Bird, if were betting, my money would be on the Dream Team......

Lebron only has 2" on MJ!! I wouldn't call Lebron a big man! Yes he does run the floor good but so did MJ. MJ in his prime over Lebron any day of the week! Also if the game was close wouldn't you want the greatest player ever to have the ball and take the last shot over Lebron having the ball and passing the ball because he doesn't want to take the final shot.

The Dream Team would win hands down. The 2012 team wouldn't know who to try and stop.

Two inches and 40 lbs, that`s a big difference! MJ was probably the best ever, but he missed way more of those last second shots that he made, they only showed us the ones he made, not the ones he missed. I would take MJ over anyone with the game on the line. Lebron James is a freak of nature and his 3 straight MVP awards are not a fluke. Have you ever looked at his stats since he`s been in the league.....off the charts!

dbprofitt56, unless I'm dreaming, David Stern has just approved rules and punishments for FLOPPING, and Lebron is one of the worst offenders of it. He may be 2" taller, and so on and so on, but he couldn't carry Jordan's sunday underwear when it came to winning. And regardless of it all, no matter how many mvp's he wins or how many more titles he wins by recruiting more talent to play around him, he has already lost two finals, and Jordan is 6-0, so he'll always be playing catch up.. Lebron led teams are 1-3!

There is only one "Dream Team." '92'

I don't even think Jordan would play most of the fourth quarter because the Dream Team would have such a big lead

Don`t look it up, but who was one of LeBron James teammates on the Cavs? Do you not think the Bulls were loaded when Jordan was there? You can disregard those MVPs, but there`s a whole league full of guys who will never win just one! For the flopping, I don`t have a clue what you`re talking about, but my guess is, he`s not the only one in the league doing it.

And the one Lebron won he had to join someone else's team! Can't win or get anyone to come join him in Cleveland, so go join De Wades team.

If Lebron is one of the greats shouldn't he be able to lift the play of his teammates? Do you think the Bulls would have won 6 without Jorden? Would Pipen be in the hall of fame with out Jorden being on the team?

dbprofitt56, Mo Williams was the Cavs guard when they lost their finals, and they had recruited Ben Wallace to help them win it, which didn't work. Can't remember any others, but I wasn't a fan. Jordan's teams weren't what I would call loaded, but he had Pippen. The rest were role players who would not have been as good if it weren't for teams keying in on stopping MJ. You may say MJ wouldn't have won any without Pippen, but we'll never know. What I do know is Pippen had two years to win one without MJ when he had retired to play baseball, and he couldn't get it done. So who made who better. My idea of loaded for the bulls of the 90's would have been by signing Shaq or Duncan at center, who would have been much better than Cartwright. Then I would have to agree as that would have been loaded!! And you know exactly what "flopping" is, or you wouldn't have followed up your statement by stating the rest of the league is doing it.. C'mon, watch a game. Or better yet, watch PTI and watch them make fun of the flopping..
And I'm not disregarding Lebron's MVP's, but last time I checked basketball is played by two teams with "5" players on the floor, and unlike MJ, Lebron isn't making the players around him better. MVP's usually do! If MJ would have had Lebron's train of thought, he would have went to the Lakers during the 80's, and then went to the Bulls with Pippen and talked Shaq or Duncan to join and dominated the 90's. And for the record, I was always a Larry Bird fan, not an MJ. Just something about that hick from french lick that I admired. But I'll call it as I see it.
How did we go from the dream team comparisons to an MJ/Lebron debate? Now I remember, there is no debate on the best dream team.. '92'
