water race rules question...

does anyone know why the rules were changed so that heat points are not given any more? only the grand final get credit now.

rules

It used to b semi points and then grand but now u do get heat points not semi and then grand

so did I read this wrong:

4. UKC WATER RACE CHAMPION (WCH) 100
Championship points and must include one First Tree
and First Line win in Grand Finals at least one time on
the same date and in the same race.

and then I found this:
Heat Winners
A dog winning First Line receives 5 points
A dog winning First Tree receives 5 points

so by winning line/tree in heat, I would only get points and not count towards a title?

you would get the 10 points and yes they do count towards your 100 point cumulative total, however with that 100 points you have to have at least 1 grand final line and tree to become a Water Champion. kind of like the hunts you have to have 100 points and at least 1 1st place win to become NiteCH

ok. well, I have sent them a message becuase they were not gonna give me anything because it was not the "final".

she got a line/tree in her heat at 11yo. first time she has gotten both at the same time! so proud of her.

Cynthia, without a doubt, she should get her points earned in her heat race, which is 5 for line and 5 for tree..those points should go towards her 100 points needed for CH....Ed Esposti is right on with his info.

Used to, if there were semi races, the heat points did not count forward if you did not win the semi. You just lost EVERYTHING...Last year it was changed, so we keep our heat points and the semi heats are for advancement only. If you don't advance to the final through a semi, you now still get to keep your heat points.

We have been having to show this new rule on occasion. Many are still trying to award semi points and not heat points..

RULE CHANGES ARE BROUGHT UP AND VOTED ON EVERY TWO YEARS. WHEN THE SAME PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE FILLING OUT WIN SLIPS EVERY YEAR, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH

OH, AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE HAD ALREADY LEFT LAST YEAR WHEN THE MONEY RAFFLE TOOK PLACE, THE WIFE SAID TO TELL EVERYONE THANKS. THAT $300 WAS NICE.

That 11yo wouldnt happen to be a Red female would she? If so I was there and seen that heat, she left them young dogs like they were standing still. Got a first line first tree she did!!!

yes it was. I was proud of her. first line/tree she has ever gotten in the same race. Sherry contacted me and is working on getting everything straightened out.
