nite hunt question

In a nite hunt, if dogs are handled does that mean you have to be hanging on to leash or can you let the dog walk freely but dragging the leash?

I can't find in the rule book where it says you have to hold the lead. I think as long as your in control of your dog. I always just used to clip the lead and drop it and my dog would follow

I doubt the dog could be considered "handled" if you didn't have a handle on it.
As a practical matter, you would be inviting all kinds of problems. Just a for instance, your dog is on leash waiting for the 8 to break so you can recast. Your dog takes off for whatever reason, you are scratched. I know, your dog never takes off with the leash attached but.......

I meant like walking back to the truck type things. During the hunt I always held it. I thought she was asking like during timeout walking back to the truck

Once the clock stops it doesn't matter how they get back.
