Spring is in the Air !!!

Well the "Kids" were feeling the Spring Air and the Pond is getting Warmer !!! they played tag for an hour or 2 them played in the Pond awhile !!!

Steve....notice the belly bulge in the second picture.....
She's cookin right along with 4 weeks to go, and I'm keeping good healthy weight on her.... !!!!!!

by the way.....I just found a ring tail den right down in the bottom.....Harlee has been pretty fired up for the last few days......

Stan her weight looks really good! She has afew rolls of Fat to burn while having Pups!

Thats neat having Coon dens close to the Hounds !! I guess the coon think its safer to keep those hounds insight !!

Well All the Hounds Played very hard today so they should sleep well tonight, I'l take a few hunting tomorrow night ..

Thanks Chuck.......She's got some extra weight on her and it makes her look much more "thicker" than normal, but she is really doing well.......Her pace is starting to slow down a bit, and if she could still fit on my lap, I think that's where she would want to be most of the time......

Check out the whelping box..( took the pic with my cell phone so it's a little grainy...)....It's a 5x7 pool ( the inside measurements are 4x6) with 3" pvc hog rails.....

I keep dreaming of a blue BOO pup or 2, or 3 in this litter....

Steve,

Robert called last night and he said Cotton has one hell of a nose. He said he just keeps getting better and better. Cotton is picking up tracks the others cannot pick up and runs them wide open. He also has him rigging and he is a sight towering up over the others. I don't think I will ever be able to get Cotton away from Robert so I think a cross between Aggie and Hammer is definitely in the future. I looked at when she was last in heat and she should be due to come back in June.

Yep "Aggie & Hammer" Again !!!

Some of "Frosty Blue's" Today !! Squirrel Hunting

16 Hounds Loose all the Time !!

Just finished adding 3' to the Existing Fence so its 7' high now !!

1,780 feet around the enclosure, so about 1/3 of a mile and they can run around the place 6-8 time a day so I'am guessing they do about 2+ miles easy which is prit good excerise daily !!

You are right on that. We spend so much time with our hounds. They are lead broke early and we teach them to walk into the woods on the leash and are casted out and walked out on the leash when done. We put them on the bench everyday and check their teeth, ears and so forth and we make sure we check them every time they come in from hunting for ticks etc. Before we take the pups out at night for a hunt we let them go to the hunt club for a hike on the weekends several times in different spots which helps them getting use to riding in the box. So by the time we cut them loose to hunt at night they are ready to go. The good thing about all this is when it is time to go hunting they are easy to handle and well behaved hounds in the woods which makes it even more pleasurable.

They had a good time this past weekend. The weather was perfect.
