Not Hunting Related But...
It's good to see Bo has been OFA'd for hips.
Here's the report results on Pine Meadow Bo (this is available publically on the OFFA website):
Breed: REDBONE COONHOUND
Sex: M
Color: RED
Birthdate: Mar 8 1996
OFA Number Registry Report Date Final Conclusion
RCN-3G88M-NOPI HIPS Aug 1 2003 GOOD
To date, there are only ~ 3 or 4 Redbone Coonhounds that are in the OFFA database. (Not sure about the other breeds).
Mine are not yet registered with OFFA however, I have had two xrayed. I'm working on getting all my dogs xrayed once they reach 2 yrs old, then submitting to the OFFA database. It's a great learning and reference tool.
Bad hips is not totally attributed to inherited traits - diet and exercise play a big role in the skeletal development of a dog (I am not an expert but do read alot of diet and overall development of dogs.) I think there is a fear out there that if a dog comes back with a bad assessment, people may think their entire line is affected. Not true.
It's good info to have in your back pocket for your breeding program.
