Question for the A.I. Guys ??

Can you get more than one breeding from a straw of frozen semen, and also I have never used A.I. so I was wondering If your females do not take will the stud owner back it up or are you stuck with a loss?

AI

the uterus in a female dog will only hold about 4cc of seman, 3 is plenty to breed with so the amount of breeding is going to depand on the amount your supplier sent you. some will send 6-8 cc some will send 4cc. the warranty of the seman depends on the owner of the seman but most will allow you to breed again but usally only twice but again it always varies from person to person.
If you are using frozen seman i would reccomend implanting it surgically because frozen seman does not live near as long as chilled seman and this will increase your chances of getting it the uterus faster and healthier.
hope this helps

If you are going to use straws you will need two straws one for each horn of the uterus. I would do it surgically if you are going to use frozen. You will need to do 3-4 progeseterone test and find out the exact date that all the eggs are dropped.

Most of the time the dog you are using frozen on has been dead so there is no guarantee on it. Best thing to do is prgesterone test and do it surgically if using frozen semen.

I was wondering if anyone has done it theirselves. There is a kit for sale in Jeffers with instructions. I was thinking of trying it.

also dont buy those AI kit they are a waste of money. send me an email and i will reply with the tools you need.
