Alabama Coon Clubs

Are there any of the Alabama Coon Clubs that would consider putting on an UKC Beagle events? I have been exchanging messages with some Alabama beaglers on some of the Beagle Message Boards that would love to see some UKC Beagle Hunts in that area. Before you say no, think about it. They are held in the off season of competition coonhunting, you could get some club income and new members, I think the first hunt is free (100% profit for the club), and I will bet you have some current members who have beagles as well as coondogs. I am just trying to help some of my beagle buddies to get some Beagle Hunts going in the South. I know of a number of Georgia beaglers that are looking for some hunts also. Think about it.

Randy, I would bet that because of the snakes and the gators, more competition coon hunts are scedualed in the winter. Still, there are some beaglers in the South that are looking for ways to attend UKC Beagle events. All of the coon clubs already have a clubhouse and a UKC Charter and the membership to make an Beagle Event happen. It would be a good way for a club to make some easy money and maybe pick up some new members. The first beagle hunt is free so if you would have 20 beagles at $15 a beagle, that could be $300 in a club's treasury. I know the coon clubs up here need all of the members and money they can get.

Dave, you might be surprised how many hunts Alabama has each month. Hot weather and snakes do not slow down the hunts. Thats southern living. There is as many hunts in the summer as there are in the winter.

My wife is from Macon, Georgia and I could have moved down there when we hooked up. Buckshot and Randy, could I have some beagle hunters send you some e-mails. There are some folks who would like to get some UKC Beagle Events going and maybe you fellows would know of some clubs that will help them out. It could easily be a win-win situation, the beaglers get their hunts, the club makes out with profit from a hunt and some new members. I bet both of you guys know some beaglers.

Guys, any help would be great. All my life I have defended coon hunting to deer hunters who hated dogs being in the woods. All we need is a club willing to help out so we can hold a trial hunt. We are wanting to see if we can get enough interest to start a club. I believe your club would make money on the hunt. As a dog hunter in Alabama, I know we all need to help each other. Any help would be great.
