Brigman B&T

Michael, We took the B&T female you saw last week hunting last nite. Guess what while dad 2 boys were doing the guy thing on the bushes she took off to the creek. Well they took off to catch up. They opened run down the creek treed after about 30 min. She did it too. She wasnt treeing real hard but when we got there the boys were split treed about 25 ft. apart she was running back and forth. Would tree on one a minute and run to the other and tree on it a minute. Saw both coons. Decided to shoot one out well had to hold her because it scared her but the coon fell and while the boys were in the weeds looking it ran out beside her and when it ran into her she took off after it by herself. The boys were still looking. She got down in some bad stuff and couldn't catch it so she opened up. When she did the boys took out after her. Well the coon went straight for the slough. I heard her open coon squall and the fight was on. Dads Jake male got there behind her and they ended up in the water fighting the coon. Bryan made a run to them since at the time we thought Myra might be by herself in the water with the coon. She hasn't had many out to her so she isn't experienced in killing one yet. The Walker got there to and all got a piece. Well when Bryan got to them she got scared and ran straight into the slough. Somebody has whipped her good. Finally left her and went to the truck and got some of the mud from the slough off of us. Loaded up Jake and Ike and got the tracking system and walked back a little bit. Called her about 10 min. and here she came running straight up to me. Happy I didn't leave her. Maybe after a while she will figure out that she won't be hurt by us. Boy were we proud. Even dad was in the middle of helping with her confidence petting and praising. I guess not to bad for the 4 yr. old who don't know anything. I guess now I have to hunt so we can catch her until she trust us doing that too. At home she is getting better every day about not being scared of us. Amazing what a little attention will do. Well I thought you might like to know this since you bred Bo to her and gave her a chance. She will strike and tree a coon. Maybe one day she'll do it by herself. I'll give her time and confidence. Talk to ya later. Janelle

Janelle,

That's great news! You and Bryan have really done wonders with that female. She's come a very long way in a short amount of time. Keep up the good work. I'll try to come down for a hunt real soon. Tell everyone I said hello.

- Michael
