Why is it off-colored if it isnt a walker?

I think thats a lil wrong, lol.....I always considered an off colored to be when a dog doesnt meet its breed standard for color.....as in a solid white walker, or a redbone thats black and tan, or a solid black and white bluetick.....why are they considered off colored if they arent walkers? Can someone please explain that to me? cause I think thats a load of horse apples.....

I think the answer is because of the number of walkers. Majority of the coonhounds registered and hunted in the hunts are walkers. It makes it easy to say anything else is off colored.
Take a bowl of marbles and put 100 black ones in the bowl and put 5 white ones in the bowl. Tell some one to pick the off colored marble and they will pick the white one cause it is the minority. Nothing wrong with the white marble just another way to express the majority/minority in our dogs.

The voice or reason isn't much fun, or necessarily the most popular, but the voice of reason just the same...

I think

English Rule & all others Drool!

But heck, what do I know got some of those giant Beagle type thingies tied up in my backyard. Give me a dog that trees a coon & I'm happy, the heck with color, can't see them at night under the tree anyway.
