If you erased aesthetics, color, voice ect.........

and your only concern was pure and simple coon treeing ability,

Would you still hunt the line and breed of dogs that you hunt now??

If astetics, color, voice were that important to me, I wouldn't be hunting what I'm hunting now.

Amen JiM! I guess I don't hunt a "line" anyways, but what I have now doesn't impress me much with his mouth or style. He gets the job done though. To each his own, but ALL I care about is him getting under a real live (soon to be dead) coon as quickly as possible.

can't be beat

You can't beat a Russian Russell, It's a cross between a Jack Russell, and a Russian Jill.

Every one will have one in the next couple of years.

I'm in the same boat Jim.

And yes I'd still be hunting her. Been hunting the same gyp for 8 years now. she'll die right here and I hope I can have another one like her. She's ugly ,and doesn't have a great mouth, but she's a straight cooner that has given us alot of pleasure in the woods and I only hope that I can get another one like her to take her place.

Kinda like... would you still have married your wife....

makes you think.

i hunt the hounds I hunt for two reasons: conformation and ability... you can't seperate the two. My hound has good color, very loud, and good conformation, one of the most natural pups I have brought up, one of the most intelligent animals i have ever been around, the problem with him, is me. \
\

i don't want to dislike anything about my hound.

A coondog is a coondog no matter race, relgion, or whatever lol

Im hunting a 10 year old soon to be 11 and would hunt her no matter the color of her hide,, i just hope the young dogs out of her finish out to be close to the coondog she has been, I will hate the day i have to bury her, she is only the second dog of that caliber i have had in over 20 years of following these hounds had plenty that would tree coon and do it right but only 2 in her league.

later warn

I'd hunt a poodle as long as it treed coon. I like the looks and sounds of a blue or a black dog but I'm hunting a walker and soon to be getting a walker pup.

Well,

I dont know what Astetics Means, But If a Dog had no Color, and No Voice, It would be darn hard to see where he went, and tell when hes treed. LOL
