do you see less linebreeding in walkers?

i see really impressive pedigrees on walker dogs, mostly all grand nites, with a nt ch here and there, but they seem to be from all different lines and from dogs that are grand nites that arent real well know. does it matter if they are a hienz 57 variety dog as long as they come from all titled(presumably good) dogs, or eventhough you have a bunch of titled dogs if they come from a bunch of different lines and crosses the results could be mixed at best?

just curious, and i might be making a generalization that is unfair, just seems like in the bluetick breed crosses are made not just between good dogs but dogs that ahve alot of the same blood in them

I hunt Walkers, and as a fan of the breed I can tell you that there is a lot of "line breeding" involved in the walker breed. The difference is simply a numbers game. Because there are more walkers registered, there are many more "strains" of the breed than some of the smaller breeds. When you start really studying the pedigrees of the dogs you see that for one reason or another a lot of the walker breeders put "thier" name on a dog instead of using what I call, for lack of a better term, the "family" name.

You just have to really know and understand the pedigrees to see the line breeding without recognizing kennel names is all.

If you looked at my dogs 3 generation pedigree you might think she is one of those outcross walkers but, If you go back 6 generations there are MANY of the same dogs.......I think walkers are linebred as much as any other breed.
