Make sense?

Why do people drive several hours to a big hunt then cry like school girls when they have to drive an hour or an hour and a half to hunt? What do these guys expect at these big hunts?

They prolly expect to hunt within a reasonable distance of the clubhouse. Three hours of driving time to hunt two hours would keep me from going in the first place which is why I have never hunted AO. But I know up front what events will most likely involve more driving than hunting. If I choose to go to those events, I shouldn't bitch about the driving.

Thats what im saying. When theres around 150 dogs to be put in the woods its pretty ovbious some are going to be doing some driving.

Depends on where the hunt is I guess. Michigan Madness puts that many in the woods for 7 straight nights and they don't send casts over an hour. Walker Days doesn't either, atleast I never have.

Should of told em if they didn't like it. To guide next time. If they would of scored 1500 or so I bet no crying would of happened. I think their should be a limit though. 2 hrs. I mean if you need more than that. Maybe a place needs to think about hosting a big event elsewhere.

I dont mind a drive as long as the guide can put us in coon in a safe spot for the dogs. I dont like having to drive 70MPH. on country roads to get the scorecard back before deadline so a lazy MOH. can get to bed. UKC. should tell these clubs that when its not dark until 1o pm. that a 2 am. deadline is to early.

I know when i go to a major event there is going to be some drive time involved 1-2 hrs should be expected. But I know of more than 1 cast at AO last year that drove 3-4 hrs thats just plain nuts then to be dumped in crappy hunting and only tree 1 coon is way outta line. If I'm gonna drive 2 hrs I better be put in good hunting. If a club can't put 150 dogs in the woods within 1-1.5 hrs from the club the hunt should probably be moved.

driving is part of the consideration when u decide to enter a big hunt if you are not willing to drive don;t enter. If you can't deal with that heres a website for you to get a pacifier.

http://www.babiesrus.com/

how can you say a man has no coons when he says he guided a cast to his best spot and those sorry dogs only treed one...there are 2 sides to every story folks, thats a lesson i learned early cause i was raised rite.

I just know several were complaining about drive time at bluetic days. Im sure everyone would be tickled pink to be hunting 10 mins from the club in good hunting but its just not realistic in big hunts.

The further north you go in the summer the later your daylight lasts. Our days here in central MN have light until 10pm at the height of summer. Go above the arctic circle on June 21 and there is no nighttime. The reverse happens in the winter, sun up at 8am and dark by 4:30 pm on the shortest days.
