witch one , they make a few dirrerant ones. i do have one and there just like the rest of them. you hit the button and it shocks the dog. i dont think one is better then the other. i also have a cheap no name brand and it does just as good.

There is a huge difference in e-collars. I wouldn't even mess around with anything that doesn't say Tr-Tronics on it. Their customer service is great, the systems are made in USA, and they get better distance than anything else. They really don't have a competitor, but to answer the original question I have never used, nor know anyone that used a Sportman's.

I have a HoundHunter 3225 and so far I like it. The last 2 Tritronics products I bought didn't last so I decided to try something else.

sport dog

I have one. It gets good distance. I can't remember the model. The only thing I don't like is that the hand held unit is really long, whitch makes it cumbersome to carry.

never used that one , the one i have is a 1200 but they dont make that model any more, like i said before it works fine. does what i need it to. being able to shock at 500 yards away or so really isnt doing me any good cause it is at night when im training, i cant see that far away to no 100% that im doing it for the right reason. jmo i get more responce in using the tone button in those situations.

My experience has been just the oposite!

Tri-Tronics has gone down hill dramaticaly over the years. I used TT systems for 30 years and the reliability and ranged went to crap as did their customer service.

I recently changed to a Sportdog 3225 and have seen better customer service, better range and dependability and cheaper cost.

I worked in a retail store that was one of the leading TriTronics distributors in the nation, and I've seen first hand the volume of returns. We had such a hassle with TriTronics customer service, we eventually had to start having the customers deal directly with the company.

I will never ever ever ever personally use anything but a Sportdog. I can't vouch for the model number you referenced, but I've been vert pleased with the 3225. Customer service is absolutely first rate.
I promise I've dealt with TriTronics customer service headaches more than 90% of people that will respond to this thread, and can tell you there is simply no comparison. Every time I had an issue with a Sportdog unit, it was handled promptly, professionally, and with the customer's satisfaction in mind.
