Most effective and cheapest way to keep ticks, fleas, flies and mosquitos off dogs

Heres the most effective way to keep ticks, flies, fleas, mites and
mosquitos of your dogs.....just go to your local farmers supply store and buy some insecticide cattle ear tags and attach them
to your dogs collar its the cheapest way and more effective than
conventional high priced flea and tick collars especially if you have several dogs I think they come twenty to a pack you can save the rest for later. If they'll work on a thousand pound cow you know they'll work on a 50-100lb. dog....just be careful about having them around pups it might hurt the pup if he chews on the
tag.

Cedar chips are a MYTH

Red Cedar chips DO NOT prevent your dogs from flea infestations. Also, when they get wet they can burn the hide on dogs. They should NEVER be used for young pups. Also, the fumes may smell good to YOU - but they can irritate the nasal passages of dogs - especially when the chips are fresh or being used in an enclosed area.

works on fleas and ticks, not quite as good on flies. the best thing that is helping with my flies is the neighbor put some Purple Martin bird houses. they catch them every day

Bayer Tree & Shrub for sure.

Bayer T&S works for fleas & ticks & is VERY affordable. Frontline is too expensive for more than a couple of dogs. I just paid $18.95 plus tax for Bayer T&S and the bottle will last for more than two years. I have more than a couple of dogs.

I use the Bayer. I only have 2 dogs, but my dad keeps up to as many as 30 beagles at a time. We have been using the same bottle for over a year. It works.

GA DAWG,

You are not going to see good results with ticks, and the people that say they are either aren't looking or are just getting a short term repellent affect from the strong smell of the chemical after you apply it.

It works well on fleas. But the active ingredient in Bayer Tree and Shub is the same thing as in Advantage. Advantage is not labled to kill or repel ticks---it is for fleas only.

I've found frontline or the cheap hartz stuff from wal mart to be much more effective on ticks.

Keep your dog active on Ivomec monthly for ticks, bayers tree shrub for fleas. Ivo covers all the blood sucking worms and pests. Bayer kills fleas. I dont have flies (lucky I guess)
Ive never tried the cow tags but open to anything. So far im in good shape, SO FAR lol

BUT TICKS IS REALLY BAD HEAR AND THE ONLY THING AND I MEAN THE ONLY THING THAT WILL KEEP THE TICKS OFF IS FRONT LINE PLUS 1 DOSE WILL LAST 2 1/2 TO 3 MONTHS AND YOU WONT SEE A TICK FLEA OR FLY ON THEM FOR THEM 3 MONTHS....

PS... FRONT LINE PLUS WORKS ON HUMANS TOO..... THE VET TOLD ME ABSOULTY NOT TO PUT IT ON MY SELF... BUT WHILE SHE WAS TELLING ME THAT SHE OPENED A PACK PUT IT DOWN MY DOGS NECK AND RUBBED IT IN WITH NO GLOVES ON... AND I GOT TO THINKING ON THE WAY HOME HOW CAN IT HURT YOU ???? SO ME BEING ONE OF THEM PEOPLE THAT ABSOULTY DONT WANT TOO LISTEN ... AND JUST HAVE TO FEEL ... I TRIED IT AND LOW AND BEHOLD IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM....LOLOLOLOL... AINT FOUND A TICK ON ME SINCE.....I TOLD HER BEFORE I LEFT THE BEST WAY TO GET ME TO DO SOMETHING IS TOO TELL ME NOT TO DO IT.....LOL

I used to have a neighbor that when he dipped his dogs for fleas and ticks, he would also dip his hunting pants to keep ticks off of himself.

I usually use the Hartz version of frontline. Seems to work OK for me.
