Is there no coon hunting there? My fiance was offered a good job there and highly considering moving there.

Depends on where. CA is a huge state and NorCal covers about half of it. If you're not in the city, then you're probably in the valley or the mtns.
I've been in IA for almost 2 yrs now and I'd go back to NorCal in a heartbeat. Loved the coon hunting out there -- hate it here.

Probably plan on bear, cat and/or fox hunting. Then cross the border and go lion hunting. Coon....probably not so much.

I've been near Herlong but I don't think I've actually been through it. I'm guessing it's high desert, but not positive.

PM barktreed on here and ask her. She lives not too far from there, but she drives down to the valley to coonhunt.

Long drive for UKC events! Either down to Oroville or Galt in the valley, or up to western OR or WA.

As a coonhunter, that's not a part of CA I'd choose to live in.

HEY JESSE, WELL YOUR CLOSE TO RENO AND ALOT OF GOOD BIG GAME HUNTING, YOU'D BE ABOUT 3HRS AWAY FROM WHAT I THINK HAS SOME OF THE BEST COON HUNTING HAS TO OFFER. THE AREA YOU'D BE MOVING TO I'M SURE IS A DOG CONTROL ZONE, WHICH MEANS NO "HOUNDS" IN THE WOODS. VALLEY FLOOR, YOU CAN COON HUNT IN SHORTS ALL YEAR LOL... AND YOU WOULD'NT NEED A GARMIN OUT THERE, YOU CAN TRACK WITH ANYTHING. SAD PART ABOUT BACK HOME IS THAT THEY ARE UNDER ATTACK! HOUND HUNTING. THEY ARE FIGHTERS AND SURE THEY WILL PREVAIL. GOOD LUCK IF YOU JUMP STATES. CHOE TINY

CALI IS A GREAT,PLACE BUT YOUR AREA OF RELOCATING IS GRIM FOR COON. HIT THE VALLEY FLOOR N YOU'D LOVE IT.
