Rule Senario

3 dog cast.

A and B are struck. And declared treed.

Score the tree and it's plussed. Cast walks off the tree and A and B are still on the leash. C is struck and treed deep.

What does he strike for?

So what if they are both casted and a strike and tree call was immediately made after?

What if A and B had returned to the tree that was just scored and C was struck and treed ? Would he go in for 50 or 100?

THE WAY I READ IT IS YOU CAN NOT STRIKE IN FOR 100 IN THIS CASE UNLESS ALL DOGS ARE OFF THE LEASH , OR AT LEAST ALL DOGS STILL HUNTING ARE OFF THE LEASH

SOON AS THOSE 2 DOGS ON LEASH ARE CAST AND NO OTHER DOG IS STRUCK YET THE STRIKE OPENS TO 100

I agree but what about the dogs going back to the same tree? How is it right they steal 100 and 75 for a previously scored tree? Intresting senario that happened to me a few weeks back in a cast.

Well which was it? Were they recasted and re struck and then the other dog struck or what? If they were turned back loose and struck back in. They still have higher than C. C handler should of maybe waited and seen what was happening.

It happened like this. Just scored A and Bs tree. Walked them a little ways and re casted. They ran right back to the same tree and C fell treed close by the cast. C go in for 50 or 100?

Trevor, until those "scored" dogs are recast they "hold" their strike positions. No other dog can strike in above them. The rest becomes a matter of "you take it from there" in terms of how things played out.

That's what i'm figuring too. 1 did re strike and tree though because even if they go back they still have to be re struck on or before the 3rd bark just not treed.

Strike points were open so witch ever struck first got the 100. I am glad to read this one. I wouldn't had known. Thanks for posting it.

My dog was dog C. The judge said I was going in for 50. I told him to put a ? on the card and we'd sort it out at the clubhouse. I thought it wasn't right they went in for 100 and 75 going back to the same tree.

They could get struck in higher than C if they got struck in first after they recast couldn't they?

I think that is a rule that should be changed. If they go back to the same tree looks like you would delete or minuse strike and tree points to me.

Then raise the other dogs strike and tree points up to were they should be.

You would delete it. That's why I was wanting my 100 strike points. Not my fault they went back to a scored tree.

Maybe to be sure we're all on the same page on the exact scenario, because I'm not 100% sure I am, I'll provide the following scenario. And give us your answer. If you fail then you should respectfully decline to judge the next time you're asked to as a reminder that you were wrong in scoring this situation Just kidding but the losers should get something shouldn't they?

Ok.... Three dog cast. A and B are declared struck and treed. C is still out and has not been struck. Tree is dead and then scored. A and B are led a short distance away and recast. A and B turn back towards the scored tree and strike in again. They're declared struck for 100 and 75. Now they tree but no one trees as they are likely back on the same tree. The cast heads towards them to check. On their way in, Dog C opens and is declared struck. What strike points are awarded to Dog C?

BTW - A and B were in fact on the previously scored tree if that makes any difference to you.
