Question

2 nights ago I had a fellow coon hunter pull up in my yard. He asked me if i could keep one of his dogs for a couple of weeks. The county is on his @ss because his home, yard and the conditions that he keeps his animals in is not quite up to par. Actualy its pretty horrible but he does feed and water his dogs. any way he has to go through a series of inspections. The dog is a beautiful 18mnth old treein walker. He says she will put a coon in a tree. usually his dogs are pretty decent hounds. he also told me to feel free to hunt her. Now heres the question. I have a funny gut feeling that i am gonna wind up with the dog, but she is not registered. And if in fact she will run and tree a coon I will keep her if not... she will become a deer dog. is there any way to register a dog that is not registered or is she bound to being a pleasure dog?

You need to get in contact with someone from the treeing walker association. They will send you a packet that explains it step by step.

I WOULD WORRY MORE ABOUT HIM TELLING THE COUNTY WHERE SHE IS AND THEN THEY START TO HARASS YOU FOR NO REASON. GOOD LUCK IN WHAT EVER YOU DECIDE.

We are pretty old school country folks around here. we mind our own business and keep our mouths shut . lol .
As far as them coming to my place, Bring it on! My dogs are in 8' x 20' concrete kennels and in beautiful shape. And i keep my home and yard maintained as well. But I see what your saying too. I am more interested in finding out if the dog will hunt.
