I USE BLINKING LIGHT'S ON MY HOUND'S WHEN HUNTING. WAS TOLD THIS PAST WEEKEND WENT PLEASURE HUNTING WITH A COUPLE FELLOW'S . I ASKED THEM IF THEY USED THE BLINKING LIGHT'S ON THERE DOG'S,AND THE ONE FELLOW SAID THAT THOSE BLINKING LIGHT'S WAS LIKE RINGING A DINNER BELL FOR CYOTE'S. HAS ANYONE EVEY HAD THERE DOG'S ATTACKED BY CYOTES WHEN THEY WAS USING BLINKING LIGHT'S ON THERE DOG'S ?

I was told just the opposite that they keep coyotes away. The coyotes are gonna hear the dogs long before they see the lights and the lights can prevent a dog from getting hit in the road. I dont use them yet but know guys that do.

been using them for a couple years and wont cut loose without it on I have heard the opposite though

We hunt off of a country 2 lane rd a lot late at night, have had cars stop and turn around due to seeing the flashing blue and red lights on the dogs. Guessing they thought it was a check point or wreck, Made a believer out of us as far as dog safety, Won't cut them with out the lights any more. As far a yote's go their not much an issue here as far as dog attacks go. run the lights to try allow traffic to see the dog.

I've been using lighted collars for 20 yrs and if anything they keep the coyotes away.

In the over 20 years I hunted coon, bear, cats I have never had a yote problem. Had a couple trash races where dogs killed yotes a time or two. But only time yotes were in the mix, it was dogs going to them. Sure they howl at treeing dogs a lot. But never seen or heard of a yote offering to come in and cause problems with the hounds.

Wolves on the other hand...the reason I got out of hunting big game. They will come in and decimate an entire pack.

Hunted in and around yotes all my life. Never gave them such concern. Just trash for pups to run a time or two.

You are more likely to have a dog stretched at a tree before you get there by another dog or killed by a coon on the ground than have a yote mess with the dogs.

I have used them but stoped since i started using a garmin.
They are nice for around roads but they're also a bulls eye for some trigger happy fool.

up here in wisconsin, i've had some tough dogs get ran out of the woods with teeth marks on their tail & butt at night. yotes pack at night and ain't scared of a dog or two.

i don't release mine without lights. i like seeing what they're doing and knowing where they are. i do a lot of road hunting and the lights make it safer for them in that it keeps me or other people from running over them. i've never had a problem with yotes. also, if the dogs gets down from a snake bit or shot i can find them easier, if with a tracker on them.

Lights scare the coyotes off and keep em safe in the road. I never turn mine loose without one

I'VE NEVER RAN A LIGHT ON A DOG (UNLESS YOU COUNT THE LITTLE RED LIGHT ON THE TRACKING COLLAR) BUT I HAVE HAD ONE EXPERIENCE WITH A COYOTE COMING TO A DOG!!! I WAS HUNTING WITH MY TEENAGE BOY, ONE OLD DOG AND A PUP!!! THE OLD DOG GOT DEEP AND TREED WHILE THE PUP STAYED CLOSE AND PLAYED!!! AS WE STARTED TO THE OLD DOG THE PUP WOULD VENTURE OUT FROM US AND EVIDENTLY WALKED RIGHT UP ON A COON!!! SHE JUST FELL TREED, NO TRACK AT ALL!!! WE WENT TO HER AND SINCE MY SON WASN'T WILLING TO STAY WITH HER OR GO GET THE OTHER DOG (BIG CHICKEN, LOL), WE TIED HER TO A SAPLING AND WENT TO THE OTHER DOG, THINKING IT WOULD BE GOOD TO LET HER TREE FOR A WHILE!!! IT TOOK ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO GET BACK WITH THE OLD DOG AND WHEN WE GOT TO THE PUP, I NOTICED 'EYES' ABOUT 30 OR 40 YARDS AWAY!!! I CRANKED MY LIGHT AQLL THE WAY UP AND THERE WAS A COYOTE PACING BACK AND FORTH!!! THE SEASON HAD CLOSED A FEW DAYS EARLIER, SO I HAD NO GUN TO SHOOT THE COYOTE, OR COON EITHER!!! I HOLLERED AND RAN TOWARD THE COYOTE, BUT IT WOULDN'T LEAVE, SO I GATHERED UP THE DOG AND LEFT!!! MY SON, WHO STAYED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL, ASKED "WHAT WAS ALL THAT HOLLERING YOU WERE DOING"??? I SIMPLY SAID "I'LL TELL YOU LATER, KEEP WALKING"!!!
