OT= Mil. 45 Auto

A friend of mine has a Mil. 45 Automatic he got when his grandfather passed. He dont like guns and i have the chance to buy it. It has a leather holster with the US on the side and 3 clips and 2 full boxes of us army ammo. All VERY good condition, holster is alittle worn. I beleive his grandfather was in the army in the 40's.

Whats it worth, I want to give him a fair offer.

.45

Colt , Remington Rand , Remington & Ithaca made the 1911 .45 Auto for the Military . I handled about all of them in Viet Nam . Price would be based on the maker & condition .

Thanks,
Harley

The value would be in condition and maker. A friend of mine that is a gun collector has a collection of 1911 45's. He has 6 in his collection.
they are made by the following companies.
Springfield, Remington, Colt, Ithaca, Union Switch and Signal Co., and the Singer Sewing Machine Company. The last 2 are rare and way more valuable. I would take the gun to a reputable gun dealer and see what it was worth as the value of 1911's differ widely in value.
