breed question

does anyone else think there should be a color standard for english hounds? i cant enter my walker or bluetick in a hunt as a walker or bluetick if they look like a redtick, why should a english be able to enter up as an english if thier plian as day a walker, bluetick or mix? all im saying is you can take any mix of hound and call it english knowing good and well its not full blooded.atleast give the redtick its own breed and the english is known as mixed or whatever.bluetick has thier own.
english fanciers are able and do introduce top walker bloodlines to the english breed through single registry,i dont think its right, there should be a redtick breed and a english crossbred

Thought they had a color standard. As follows= Redtick, bluetick,tri-color with ticks, white and red, white and black, and white and lemon.

You start seperating these colors and you will hurt the breed. One of the great things about the English breed is it has always been an open breed and that is what has help it become a better breed over the years.

The english breed has had this color standard for years. Most english breeders breed for performance, not color. Anytime you breed for color, performance will be lost. JMO

If adding a dog of another breed to the gene pool will enhance the performance of the breed, why not? We should all be trying to produce a better hunting style dog and let the color fall where it may. The purpose of these hounds should be to tree coon to the best of there ability. Personally, I wouldn't care if it was pink with purple poka-dots if it was an exceptional dog. JMO
