Every dog is different.Best thing to do is if you want to get an older one collected is ,first make sure he is in good health.Then schedule an appointment and before any semen is thought about being frozen, the facility will do a analysis to see what the count and motility look like.Then a decision can be made on whether or not to proceed.Also recommendations can be made on say prostate health and courses of action. I have a 11 year old male here that has a good sperm count but his sperm will not survive the freeze thaw process when I try to freeze him.
