Where All Does Most Clubs Hold There Hunts Out Of!!

WHEN YOU DO NOT HAVE A CLUB HOUSE OF YOUR OWN. WE HAVE LOST OUR PLACE WHERE WE WAS USING AND NOW WE HAVE HUNTS AND NOT A PLACE TO HOLD THEM OUT OF. I HAVE HEARD OF USING FIRE STATIONS, LIVESTOCK MARKETS, ETC. WHERE ALL DO YOU HOLD THEM OR HAVE BEEN TO THEM AT. OPEN FOR ANYTHING.
THANKS

Mill Creek has there's in the parking lot of a grade school that is closed. If someone can find the key they open up the old cafateria area. Steve Fielders PKC club at Leonidas has there's in the parking lot of a lawn and garden center. Where there's a will, there's a way.

good luck on finding one

well when you have a good set up dont mess it up with a bunch of bull because that only hurts your future with the guys that helped to get it started and the ones that you lose because of it

Community Buildings

We have been holding our events at a community building for years now. We pay a certain amount every year and keep our hunt dates and club meeting dates reserved.

WE DID NOT MESS IT UP

WE DIDNT WANT ANYONE TO STEP DOWN OR WALK AWAY ALL WE WANTED WAS A MONEY REPORT AND THINGS RAN LIKE A CLUB IS SUPPOSE TO BE. AND FOR THAT SOMEONE TO UNDERSTAND THAT HE DOES NOT MAKE ALL THE DECISIONS ON HIS OWN. NO ONE ASK HIM TO STEP AWAY AND THEN NOT EVEN SHOW UP AT THE MEETING TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS IN LINE WITH ALL THE STUFF TO DEFEND HIMSELF IF HE DIDNT AGREE ON SOMETHING SAID ABOUT PAPERS, MONEY, ETC. WE ARE TOOKEN CARE OF FOR OUR HUNTS FOR NOW BUT WE ARE STILL GOING TO FIND SOMETHING TO USE FOR GOOD.

We hold ours in an American Legion. It is their meeting building. We pay a set fee for each use. It has worked out well. Full kitchen and restrooms. Our sister club has used a community building for years. They also use the city park in the summer.

In this part of the country, nearly ever small town has a local sportsmens or gun club. Most of them are wanting more active members just as houndsmen clubs are. Chances are if you are willing to help increase membership, pay a use fee, or help with the grounds maintenance, most of them would welcome the use of they're property.

In southeastern mn, I can think of 3 clubs that currently use gun clubs as they're event location. Another uses an old country township hall building. Another uses a building on a county fairgrounds and for PKC events uses a shed with an office at a member's place.

Around here there are getting to be some immaculate snowmobile clubs with very nice buildings generally funded by pull tab sales at local bars. To my knowledge, they hardly use these buildings other than a place to hold meetings, a few gatherings in the winter and a place to store the trail groomer. These might be places worth checking into.

In this day and age of low turnouts, it hardly takes more than a tin shed or picnic shelter to conduct a coonhound event.

PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HAVING A CLUB ON EVERY CORNER..IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT IN THE PARKIN LOT OF A SCHOOL HOUSE OUR PARKIN LOT OF A GARDEN CENTER YOU DONT NEED TO BE HAVING HUNTS.....
THATS THE REASON THERE ARE JUST A FEW PEOPLE AT EVERY HUNT YOU GO TO,THERES ANOTHER 30 MILES DOWN THE ROAD IN THE PARKIN LOT....COME ON....I THINK UKC NEEDS TO DO SOME CLUB CULLING...
