How many guys can honestly say they trust there garmin

i still dont have one but thinking of picking up a 320 with the 40 collars but how many people actually trust there garmin by themselves? And how many people run the beep beep system with the gps? is there any interference? can you put a regular beep beep collar on the day glo collar on the 40s or 30s? What to look for and to stay away from? I went this far without one so a couple years longer doesnt phase me but it would be extremely nice to see what the young dogs are doing and in new terrain but if you lose signal every half mile does it even pay? I know this is a hot topic but after its been out awhile im wondering what fellow hunters are thinking of them thanks

I would rather have a Garmin and a good dog than have a beep beep system and a great dog. In my neck of the woods where coons are thin and the dogs have to hunt deep most of the time and houses everywhere, highways, yard dogs, posted land, and cut over. You cannot beat a Garmin. I have only had mine about a year and a half and I cannot count how many times I got home by midnight instead of 6 or 7 in the morning all because of the garmin. I have a BAD sense of direction in the woods, we don't have many coons and hunting places are VERY VERY hard to find . The garmin is the best thing since biscuits.

My dogs will never be turned loose without a Garmin. I haven't even had my beep beep out of the case in 4 years.

You can run a beep beep with a Garmin but there is no need to.

I used a Wildlife Tracking System for a long time. I never had any troubles with it and it was very realiable but I wouldn't trade 5 of them for my Garmin. I hunt in the hills of North Eastern Kentucky, and never had any troubles with mine. I make sure my collars are charged and carry an extra set of batteries for the hand-held. If or whenever I lose connection, I just fold out my antennia, and I get them back in a few seconds. Their really something to look into, they sure make hunting a whole lot easier.

get a topo map card of the northeast quadrant. the map i got covers from minnesota south to arkansaw and straight east to the coast. then get the tuff skin antenna for the collar and the extended range flexible antenna for the handheld..you'll be set.

I trust my garmin way more than either of the beep beeps, that I had, a Wildlife and a Marshall.

The Garmin has probably saved more dogs from the road than any beep beep ever did.

I lost a nice young female in the road one night. If I would have had the Garmin I purchased the next week she would probably still be in my kennel now. If you got one you think alot of, put a Garmin on it.

Define symbiotic relationship.
Go yonder Walkers and Garmins.

They have kept each other in business for years. Without one or the other, both would have become extinct. LOL Maybe they'll put joysticks on them next year. I just wish they would make them to go on coons so you could get the "rest of the story". That ought to quadruple the market (I'll take my commission later Garmin folks) Think about it. If a coon crossed a road 20 minutes ahead of your dog that would give you a 20 minute head start to cut him off. I know where the dog is by his barking and I know where the road is cause I hunt there enough. What I don't know is where the coon is. Get my drift?

You got two dogs and you're feeding 8 coons at minimum. That is at least quadrupling the market. Question is? how many people want to know where the coon is. Oh yes, it would tell on a lying dog all the same LOL.

You are too funny! I expect I would too! But I sure need a better method of getting rid of dogs that are so far out there I can't tell what in the world they are doing. Sometime I think I get rid of a pretty decent one and pass on the ones so far away I just cain't put the honest blame on cause by the time I track one down , I have no idea if he stumbled eyeball to eyeball with it and chased it up a tree. Maybe even let it get up a tree instead of possuming it right then and there. I don't know. And there is no way to know without a Garmin on the coon or be 40 years old or younger wearing tennis shoes and do what a trainer needs to be doing and be there with that hard going rascal and SEE what he does when he does it. Does anybody know of a trainer that hunts in tennis shoes? OR: Does anybody know a Trainer that sits on the tailgate and plays video games with Garmin showing the Army but not the Enemy?

I Love my Garmin, I just wish I had a time machine and could go back and take it with me and show some old timers I hunted with years ago even before beep beeps.

Was it Old Yeller? Or Where the Red Fern Grows? In one of them the boys had an incling of where the coon was going, they just did not know how he did it. Those boys did not gain that insight by sitting their lazy buttocxes on the tailagate playing video games. Once they got enough dog pressure it all became clear.
