Hi, I have two different contracts that I use for my puppy purchasers. One has a non-breeding and spay/neuter agreement written in, as the UKC does not have limited registrations. It implicitly states that said dog is not to be bred for pet or profit. My question is, IF someone decides to breed that dog anyway, against my contract would the UKC register the litter anyway? or would registration be revoked if I presented a copy of the signed contract? I am curious of this, because I have been enlightened to the fact that some people with "limited registrations" from the AKC have gone to other registries, and bred their dogs that were sold as pets anyway? I appreciate any info you can give me.

Here's what you do to insure this doesn't happen. In your contract state that the papers will be available upon proof of spay/neuter. We support the breeder's right to withhold registration papers until the terms of the contract are met.

As you have pointed out limited registration does not guarantee a dog won't be bred. You are wise to have a contract and enforce it.
