Puppy question?

I am having a litter of puppys. And I am going to put collars on them so people can identify each pup. I was wanting to know when I should put the collars on? Because I dont want to put them on to early.

i know alot of people will use different colored yarn for the first few weeks. it might save you some on money for the collars.

Wouldn't use yarn. That is a risk of choking, hanging/snags. I put collars on mine at 3-4 weeks. I want them to be able to get around enough that if the collar does get caught on something they can get out. They also get in the way before that and have to be so small.

I use kitten collars which are usually cheaper. Some are adjustable which is best. I found most of them at PetCo clearance bin for $1-$2 ea. But the main thing is that whever you put the on, check the every day because they grow fast and they can get too tight on them before you know it.

we've done the polish, but have had it come off and/or mom lick it off.

Also take pics of the litter from above (for Walkers) and name or number them all. that way you can match the look of the dog with the name but have to check or redo it every couple of weeks because they do change.
