bright eyes

Got mine for x mas last year, really like keeping everything in it. and when its time to go hunting, just grab your vest, dont have to waste time looking for your shocker, squaller, 22 shells, light, garmin its all in one spot. only downfall ive seen is its esp hard to ride in a vehicle much less ride with a seat belt on. other than that love it. wife got it from fnt trading post.

Two words Army Surplus.

After wearing one made for coonhunting I finally got fed up with wearing a loose & ill fitting vest. I found a Army Surplus dealer who had some of the vest worn by troops in Afghanistan. I bought one and have never looked back.

They are built much better, have plenty of pockets and can be a adjusted in both length and waist to fit perfectly. Way more durable, way more comfortable and cost about the same as the vest made for coonhunting.

I use a Dan's vest and it works very well for me.. I believe the Bright Eyes is like a 1 size fits most , I might be wrong on that.....The Dan's comes in sizes S-XXXXL

Don't think you can go wrong either way...I had a nite lite one but ditched it because of no place to hold your belt light...knew several guys with the Bright Eyes vest that don't have a bad thing to say about them...ended up getting the Dans vest because it looked like it would pick up less stickers & burrs...my only complaint with the Dans is the way it holds in the Tritronics controller...uses a snap button strap over the top & velcro strap across the front...velcro strap kept coming undone, so I did away with it and just cut two slits in the material to use a properly adjusted zip tie...works just fine that way.

i have and like the bright eyes. its the only one i have ever used, and yes, its a little aggravating to try and ride with it on, with devices in the pockets. I seriously doubt it was designed for riding comfort anyway. In the woods, its all you will ever need. Yes the bright eyes is a one size fits all. For a small man, it does create some drawback. i have to tighten my straps all the way to make it fit right, but when and if it ever gets cold here, with a coat on it will fit much better.

I have a Dans small game vest that I wear, problem it is hot even in cool weather, but I like just grabbing the vest and everything is there.

I just ordered a mesh vest from Valley Creek hopefully it will hold up.

What are you putting in these vests? I haven't ever had the need to haul that much stuff in the woods. Just curious not trying to be smart.

I carry bullets, small back up light, cell phone pop cover ,compass squaller and a knife. I also keep them in the vest so I dont have to scramble around looking for them. I dont like have alot of crap in my pockets.

I will misplace something quick!!

I also carry some fire starter, Hunt by myself a lot so if I break a leg at least I can burn the woods down.LOL

.
Got a large pocket for pop lenses covers etc.., one for water bottle, one for Garmin, another for a back track device. has a small cell phone pocket, or cigarette pack holders, and yet anther for the shock collar transmitter. mine has the snaps for a optional game bag. Your belt light attaches to the right hand bootom of it also. It has it all. now thats not saying there is something in every pocket, but believe me, that water bottle pocket is extra nice in the summers down here.

ALSO !!!

The pouch that was intended for the tracker system holds a can of bug spray perfectly !!! I had to take my belt light strap off and move it more to my side. My pouches are plum full of junk !!! Brite Eyes vest has lasted almost 2 years in Arkansas briars....A pretty good product.....................Dave

I have em both and bright eyes is the way to go. Number 1 the dan's vest is bulky, number 2 it rides up on the back of your neck! Also you cant connect your light, at least not to mine.

Thanks for all the opinions on the vest I finally went with the Army Surplus suggestion I got a Ranger Vest for like 37 $ Out the door--- It serves my purpose well has plenty of pockets and it not real heavy of course you don't have the pockets made for a particular device but has 2 big pockets that zip and several that velcro-- hand pockets and a couple inside pockets and and what could be used for a small coon on the back --always want to support the hound makers products but for half the cost now I can buy some other "stuff" too--Thanks again

Ive had the B.E. for almost a year,I'LL NEVER GO BACK to wearing a light on a belt around my waist. As others have stated everything you need/use in one place. Can adjust to any size, mesh is 100% cooler in the summer than N.T. or Dans.Personally I dont have that much of a problem wearing it and driving.
