Froglegs? Wicks are comparable to ???

Okay I have sucked just about all the life out of my last pair of Wick froglegs. I am now having some major anxiety on what brand to turn to now? Can anyone answer these questions:
1. What brand holds the briars and sticktights out like the Wicks brand?
2. The Yoder's and Dan brand of froglegs how are they in anyone's opinion that has dealt with those brands.
3. Does anyone have other brands they would brag about?

Thanks Everyone! My feet and legs thank you!

Stone Creek Hounds.

I went through a pair of Yoders as well as Dans until I came across another pair with the SAME EXACT material as the Wick material and that comes from Stone Creek Hounds here in PA.

Nothing is even close to Wicks! I've tried almost all of them in the water, briars and cat claws that we have here. The pair I have now have held up so far but I've only had them since Jan., there Valley Creek Pro Chaps. I tried 3 pair of Yoders and they wont last 5-6 months down here before they start leaking from the briars and cat claws. If I would have known what I know now, I would have bought 10 pair of wicks before he went out of business. It's funny too because everyone selling waders say there's are just like wicks but there not even close. I used to get 6-7 years out of wicks and cant find anything now that will last 6-7 months.

The stone creeks might be a good chap but they aren't like Wicks.

Dans are the closest I have found... and they are a ways off.

You are mistaken bud. I have a pair of both here. I had Dan's before the Stone Creeks and I set the Dan's aside for the Stone Creek chaps because they were EXACTLY like the WICKS.

I wouldn't have posted what I did before if it wasn't the truth.

Next time you are at a big hunt and all of the vendors are there, you can compare for yourself.

To be quite honest about it, when I bought the Stone Creek chaps at Walker Days last year, Dans was set up right beside them and Valley creek just on the other side.

I went home with the Stone Creek chaps.

I hunt EVERY night.

Dans has around 5 kinds of chaps, YOU have to buy the 5 star chap with which ever boot is most comfortable for yourself. Muck is very popular.

I've had a pair of Dan's for 5 years with Muck boots. I've repaired a few leaks in the boots but the chaps have held up well. We don't have briars like some places down south, just wild blackberries that can be rough on chaps.

I thought I had lost my Wick coat so I sent an email to Don & Kim at Stone Creek after I heard they had bought out Wick. They said they made leashes and collars for Wick but they didn't actually buy them out. They told me they make the same jacket as Wick using the same material. I didn't ask about the frog legs.

here's their email: stonecrkhhs@comcast.net

Thanks everybody for the replies! Everyone has given me some great input. I would love to have three or four different vendors froglegs in my hands just to compare them before even trying them in the woods. I am with some, I sure wish I would have bought two or three extra pairs of Wicks legs to keep me going for a few more years. This is my biggest question: The material Wicks used on their products. Surely it wasn't only produced for their line of product? At least I do not think so? So why is it so hard for vendors to find the exact type of material to build their froglegs and other garments? I do know right before Wicks shut down. I visited with Linda Wick, she told me she was not going to sale the business to anyone. Her reason was legit, she did not want to see the product end up in the hands of someone that would run it into the ground. I cannot say I blame her, but dog gone it, it's just not far! HA!

Unless I got hosed the 5 star material is not the same as Wick. The grain of the material is much larger on the 5 star compared to Wicks.

I was told it was the exact same material as Wick. I was quite disappointed when my froglegs with the 5 star chaps arrived. That being said, I haven't had any issues with the 5 star.

How about the "Heavy Duty" Yoder's for Serious hunters? I see this add in the bloodline magazine. Has anyone tried these or know anyone that has?
