I was told there were a couple more blends they came out with also that were a little cheaper. Something that would compete with Sportmix.

Why is black gold dog food so expensive? I remember a 50# black bag being 18$ and ive seen people pricing it now for double that. It hasn't had a premium line until now and you can get an ultra premium sporting dog food that will make black gold look like Ol' Roy for the same price or a couple dollars more.

CHEAP dog food is not good
GOOD dog food is not cheap
If your in for the long haul you really should feed the best you can find and find a food that is consistent ,I have fed some good brands that the mix wasn't always the same and the dogs get the squirts or go down hill,then there is the dogs performance, get a feed that will stay with them and they won't run out of gas or may even over heat.What chemicals are your dogs eating? It's no different that how we eat,I have been feeding Black Gold and Victor , I ready Like the Black Gold I also like the kennel condition after the hounds eat there is a lot less clean and most importantly for you folks that think that Black Gold is expensive,you may what to think that statement over,most cases I sell food as well as use it a 50# bag of Black Gold is $1.00 more than a 40# bag of Victor,where else can you buy 10 pounds of dog food for $1.00 and you will feed 70 to 80 pounds of cheap dog food to 50 pounds of black gold. Victor would be my second choice if I could not get Black Gold.

Black Gold is good feed. Price is just as comparible to all the other good feeds out there. I dont know what can be fed that much cheaper that has any nutritional value at all. Feed what you want to feed but dont bash this thread because you dont like the price. He didnt tell you to go buy it he was informing
those of us who feed premium feeds to our hounds and take pride in it.
Black Gold also sponcers many of the Ukc hunts that you get the prizes from.

Ronnie Mace is a great person and thought of as family by many of us from NC ~ SC area.
