Short Hunt
I have a 6 mo. old pup and decided to take him out by himself tonite. I had 25 acres of corn on my place. It's been combined but the coon, turkeys deer etc. are still in the field. Anyway I was walking around the outside of the field and the pup was working the field. I started hearing dogs a long way off and they were coming closer so I caught my pup and put him away. I walked back out in the edge of the field by a tree line and soon I had 2 strange dogs run up to me. I caught them and took them up to the house and loaded them up and drove around the section. The owners were driving around looking for them. They had come about 3 miles from where they dumped them and were glad to get them back. I don't think they were running coon by the time I caught them. Sure glad I had caught up my pup as one of the dogs wasn't friendly to her partner. I went to load them up together and found out I better use both sides of the box. It ended up a short night for me.
