Top Ten points are earned when your dog wins any bench show. Grands get 4points for each dog defeated not counting themselves, Ch's 3 points and reg 1 point. At the end of the year (Nov. 30 ) if your dog is in the Top Ten for it's breed you are eligible to enter the Top Ten show at the Winter Classic. If you win your breed there you have a free entry to the overall Top Ten Conformation Show at the UKC Premier in Kalamazoo, Mi. in June. Winter Classic Top Ten shows dogs together for the breed win with all categories together for the one placement for each breed. It is separate from the regular WC Bench Show. It is nice to win since it declares you as the top hound for your breed in Top Ten for the year but if you aren't interested in going to the Premier and showing against all breeds in a conformation format you can possible take the opportunity away from someone who does and also if you don't do the conformation shows you may find yourself at a disadvantage when you reach the Premier since coonhounds earn their points in bench shows versus the strictly gaiting conformation shows for the others.
Hope I haven't confused you .
