Question!!!!!!!!!!

i was hunting the other night and i made a tree on a creek bottom shined the tree thought is was slick for a minute and i found a hole that looked like a coon could have went in. i didn't whip the dog but looked on my garmin where he checked himself and sent him that way just makin sure that it didn't go i walked about 70 yards away from the tree and sit down waiting for a strike. while i was waitin i heard something jump out of the tree and hit the ground it sounded like a coon or something similar in size. The dog ain't never ran trash besides a possum a couple of time but i've never heard of a possum denning up. My question has anybody experienced this before and did you ever find out what it was?

I've had coons come out of a den and leave after it got quiet. My guess is you heard the coon come down and leave.
