walker bloodlines

so im new to coon hunting. i have a walker/bluetick cross that im starting with. ive been looking into and asking around about reg. walkers. i hear that your rat attack, nitro, and bean dogs are the best and so the prices show sometimes. i know you get what you pay for, but not sure about taking a risk that big. wondering what every bodies views and opinions are on taking a chance with not really well know dogs.

I dont care what it is out of,if it trees coon I like it but they are certain bloodlines I like more than others.I like Sackett Jr,Buck Creek,Clover,Stylish Hayes but whatever you get dont be afraid to try other lines, you never know you may like something better than the line you have been hunting.

On the Walkers, there are various lines to pick from, a 3 generation pedigree might not look impressive, but drop back another couple and you might be suprised what is there. Being that you are from North Carolina, you might find one out of Judge Dredd, as I have seen a bunch of good bred pups listed for all sorts of prices on the walker board. Just figure what you might like, and learn what lines throw the type you might like and go from there.

Dont worry about papers. Hunt what you got and have fun. Papers dont tree coons. A coon dog has brains, heart, and drive. If yours shows signs it doesn't have these qualities, then start worrying.

Man if you are looking for opinions on walker bloodlines you will get a ton of different answers. Best way to do it is go hunt with a pup or two from the ones you like. I know for a fact Steve Pearson and Karl Spillane will take you hunting if you are interested in Judge Dredd. Mark Miller will also put you in the woods if you are interested in Hardwood Dreamer. Not all pups from a stud turn out the same. It is good to hunt with pups from different females. I know where two pups out of Dreamer are and they are priced fair. Look up MonsterMash on here. His real name is David Mash and he is a good guy and will help you out as much as possible. Best of luck.

Walkers for life here Ive owned different breeds but nothing beats walkers in my opinion sackett, nocturnal nailor, hickory nut Harry, stylish Hayes, bone collector, trackman, mojo, cabo wabo, insane Cain, Xjr, night heat eagle, yadkin tar rattler, hardwood bozo, lipper are all good blood but there are all kinds out there depends what you like

Thanks Bean has put Red, Black, White, Red an Black on the heads of his pups, But its whats between there ears that matter, David Lambert has 3 young dogs out of Bean an 3 diffrant females that would be a great place to do as nccoonhunter197 said hunt with pups out of diffrant females, I understand he (nccoonhunter197) is up to date on the walker blood an knows how to breed dogs that will inprove the bloodline.

You can't go wrong with River Bend Shrek, I have hunted with him several times and he is a nice dog. He is an outstanding track dog and is a good tree dog that is good about having a coon when he trees.

Walkers

If walker is what you want thats ok, but becareful what you get becuse they might not suit, the kind of Hunting you do and where you hunt, the hybreed, walkers today mostly hunt like Race horses and dont stop to put there head down for a mile. go hunt with some of The Blood lines you hear about and make up your own mind ...

if you want to start off without a lot of head ache and tree a bunch of game.....get you a cur...treeing cur (walker/mt cur) it will change your life. I have a female that I hope to breed to Bean next spring if tim is up for it. I was considering Trackman but after learning more and eating crow....i have come to find out that Bean throws lots of brains in his pups. Bean brain and tracking with cur brains and grit......well i feel magic is in the air. this means my dogs will have Xjr, Rat Attack, Nailor, Harry, Sackett and Now Bean. Along with several world champion and 4 way grand champion treeing curs.

shrek pups

I have four shrek pups left out of a heavy river bend bred female. These pups should be very easy to start and finish out to fine hounds. I have one that looks almost like shrek, red head and all. Price is 250 each. Only males left to sell. You can call or text me @ 252-299-2421.
