OT: Benelli Shotguns

Who on here has a Benelli Nova, and what do you think of it? I'm looking into one of these guns, but I can't seem to find a smooth bore 21" slug barrel for them. I don't want rifled, and the 18" tactical barrells are so dang expensive. Any idea's?

Chose another gun...... Benelli makes a great automatic gun, the older ones being the best, but the nova pump just isn't what people think. Its really no better then a 870. If you want a slug gun, a 500 or 835 Mossberg is hard to beat..JMO

If the dang forearm didn't rattle on em. They would be ok. I've had 2 and sold them. I have a m1 90 in a 12 ga and a m2 in a 20. I love that 20!!! As far as a pump. I like my 1300 better than the nova.

Benelli only makes a 24" riflled slug barrel for the Nova & Super Nova and they are EXPENSIVE. You won't find a smooth bore slug barrel for that gun.

IMO Benelli makes the best semi auto shotguns made. I have 2 M2s and a SBE II but the Nova is a noise making rattle trap. I've owned one for a week and sold it.

You'll find better slug barrel choices for a Remington 870.

I've got four 870s and one nova and I'd take the nova any day over an 870. They just fit me better.

Between my fiance' and I, and our in-laws we have two of each of the Super Nova's and Super Black Eagle II's. I personally shoot the Super Black Eagle II and won't use anything else. Dog driving for deer, turkey, birds, doesn't matter...that's what I use. It isn't terribly heavy and it fits me better than any shotgun I've used before. I plan on buying another one, one of these days. Father in law and fiance' like the Black Eagle best as well, so the Nova's don't get used much at our house....

ive never been a Benelli fan

I've never been a fan of them. I've had 2 super black eagles and a nova. Shot there vinci and the super black eagle 2. The vinci was nice just the price tag isn't. I had severe problems with the super black eagles cycling 2-3/4 inch shells. The nova does have a loose forearm but no other complaints, its the only one I still own.

As for your question about the barrels I don't think they make what you're looking for. You're better off just to buy a new gun and designate it for deer in my opinion.

a little o/t but in mƯ personal opinion if your going to buy a semi auto gun and don't need 3 inch or larger shells go find yourself an old winchester super x 1. Very reliable, they actually feel like a gun not a plastic piece of junk. I own a few of them and my skeet gun with a 26 inch skeet choked barrel throws a slug just as good or better than anything I've ever shot, out to 75 yards I hold great groups.

If you feel the need to have 3 inch or larger shells go check out a Beretta. You won't be dissappointed.

Again just my opinion but I've shot um all from 100 dollar mossbergs to 20k dollar perazzis krieghoffs and silver seitz.

I went with the new Mossberg 835. I really liked how it felt and it cycled really smooth.

I agree, I like the wingmaster. Never shot a nova enough to know. Not a mossberg fan.
