Thanks, I will see if I can find some folks in Indiana. Are there any other sources I should watch besides this forum, which at this point has been the best source. What should I look for and what do I avoid?

Are there peak times puppies are avalible? I would really like to find a breeder and book for a spring pup.

Thanks again for all the help!

May have a lot to do with what your intended use of the dog will be. Show , hunt or both. May sound silly to some but has a great deal to do with your chances of getting a dog you like.

I may not follow this 100% Dog would be a pet yes but I would be thrilled for it to hunt, not so sure about showing. This is limiting me on finding a breeder?

it will only limit you as to which breeder you want, some breed for dual purpose, some for mostly show, and some for only hunt.

I agree, but it will be a cold day in He11 before you find a breeder that will admit a cross was made mainly for show purposes.

I think I can relate to that. Most listings I have seen say hunting dog or Dual Purpose dog, can't say that I have seen just a "show" dog from a breeder. I have been mainly looking at dual purpose dogs, but not having much luck in my area. seems I am a few months behind or a few months early. I have time to find a breeder, but I wanted to start researching now so I can get on a list for a pup in the spring.

Thanks Again,
