Humane society took dogs

We live in mn on 40 ac in the country a few days ago the humane society and sheriffs department came on a complaint that we we where not talking care of are dogs that came from someone that had been in my yard 2 days prier looking for there lost dog. They looked around and wanted to take 1 dog that was a new edition that was on the skinny side and was just dewormed and 1 that had been hit by a truck months ago and had a limp. They said we had 10 days to take to the vet. They came back 2days later with a warrant and took every animal we own 24 dogs + 9 puppys that where 5 days old all are chickens, ducks, rabbits, horses and pheasants. We are working on getting them back they did not tell us what we are being charged with they where not happy that I had dogs on chains and did not have water in front of them 24/7 it is winter we water 2 to3 times a day we feed 2 a day meat and red paw 32 k we have very healthy dogs they also were not happy that we do all are own except rabies vet care they also clamed that if I did dew claw removal on new pups that I would be charged with mutilation. Any help whould be
great we have never delt with any thing like this before not sure what to do

DO NOT sign over any of the animals to them, regardless of what they tell you, or threaten you with. Once you do that, they are gone forever.
Remain polite but firm in any dealings with them - don't lose your temper, but let them know that you will be fighting their actions, and will get your animals back.
Get a copy of your state and county (if any) animal care laws (both livestock and pet) and standards. Also request the same from the Humane Society (they probably won't give you one, but it will let them know that you are serious, and might prevent frivolous charges).
Get in contact with any local, or state dog organizations - from your local coon club, to Sportsman's Alliance or NAIA - they will have more experience and knowledge in this area, and could probably offer you good specific advice.
Retain a lawyer with animal experience.
Good luck, and let us know how things develop.
Laurie
