Oops, fingers got excited I was so pissed.
The coach who saw was equally accountable. They ALL are mandatory reporters. Sorry for not differentiating.
The point still stands...the crime was witnessed! Joe knew it was witnessed, and really is a moot point if it was by him or a coach who told him he witnessed it. He was responsible to report it to authorities, actually obligated by law just the same.
Like I stated, not like it was a bruise that left a lot to speculation. There was NO WAY there was any justifiable derailment of a conclusion one could have conjured up that it was anything else than what it was.
It doesn't matter where we send our kids (friends, family, work, school, college, church, daycare, etc) as it can be anywhere and people who offend are in every capacity.
We would have a lot less of them around our kids if people would get off their asses and stand up for the kids and what is right.
I grew up around apathetic people. 2 generations of children in my family suffered sexual abuse not only at the hands of the abuser, but because that bitch of a grandmother who turned her back and manipulated the victims so they felt they had no choice but to continue to be victims. (and people think it odd I have NOTHING to do with that woman and have no issue w dropping the 'C' word in her honor) Don't care how wealthy, prominent, or ranked my family is/was. That bitch can die on her mtn of money. I can only hope she is burried in it to save the family the trouble of planting her ass themselves.
Thank GOD the impact on me was NOT first hand. Thank God my friend's mom heard from my cousin and directly called LE, preventing it from happening to my neices (a 3rd generation) and exposed the family secret.
It blows me away that a little 10 year old girl hears about it at her slumber party and runs to her mom to report the abuse she heard IMMEDIATELY, but grown adults see this first hand and turn their backs, or pass the buck. Worse yet, the ADULTS who manipulate the victims to make them believe what is happening isn't what it is.
Victims can't talk and have no voice when there is more protection for the abusers. When people want to silence the victims making them suffer more in order to protect themselves or the abuser...they are no different in my eyes than the abuser, to be honest, I have more sympathy for the abusers than people like Joe and the coach who give these abusers a nice paved pathway. Joe might as well have served the kids to him on a plate.
