Hunts where there's a disagreement

Went to a hunt friday drew out with 2 guys can't remember the one guys name the other was Mark G. We had a disagreement on the cast and after it was settled they gave me a hard time sayin I'd post bout them on the message board so here I am. I've been in a lot of casts where people cannot have a conversation and settle things. Most the time someone or everyone gets mad fusses rants and raves and I've been one of those on more than one occasion before I suppose but rarely you have a cast where people can agree to disagree and go on witht the hunt with no hard feelins or holdin a grudge but this was one of those casts. 2 good guys to hunt with even with a disagreement on the cast. Good huntin with ya Mark hope to hunt with ya again soon.

That was refreshing!! Many questions can be settled when people keep a cool head.

I would rather settle things in the woods than go back to the club because the guys in the woods know exactly what went down and the people at the club dont know what happened and have to go by people's word.

PRIME EXAMPLE:

I was at a hunt in another state with a NITECH dog I was handling for someone else and I drew a 3 dog cast (which I love) I drew a dog with 4 wins to GRNITECH, my dog had 2 wins to GRNITECH, and a dog with 0 wins to GRNITECH, all were VERY nice people but we had a mean dog. dog A and dog C struck and tree'd together to our right, handler of A called him tree'd but dog C wasnt called treed, heard a growl, dog A moved over to a tree right next to the original tree, dog B (mine) was struck in to the left, trailed it to the same tree. we heard more growling, got closer to see the instigator, mine was moving between the two tree, he'd tree with dog C and get growled at and move over with dog A and had no problems. Dog C was called tree'd, and because Dog C was moving, I refused to call him tree'd. the judge said we would call it one big tree and he wouldnt be minused for moving between the two trees, so then I called mine tree'd we walked in, dogs are leashed up, as we leash them up the judge says he is scratching both dog B and C for fighting (no fight ever broke out), he claimed dog B and C were growling at each other. dog C had climbed into the crotch of the tree, and dog B was chewing on the tree, neither me, handler of dog C or our guide had heard a growl out of dog B, so I put a ? on the score card and tried to prove to the judge he wasnt growling, but chewing.

We went back to the club, it was a hunt director format, so I put my $20 down and had it voted on, they voted against me. okay fine whatever, lets go back to the woods and hunt the last 106 minutes (hour and 46 minutes) with dog A, I didn't drive 9 hours not to see a coon. unfortunately we made 3 or 4 more trees and never saw a coon

two or three weeks later, I saw one of the people that voted against me and he said he had made the wrong call and that he was sorry, he should have voted with me. a week later, I get a call from one of the other guys, he also said he had made the wrong decission and that he was sorry, so 2 of the 3 "voters" had called and said I shouldn't have been scratched.

they made the wrong call but I will prolly go back to the club, they realize now that I wasn't lying and blowing smoke up their butts when I told them a different story than the judge (turns out or guide told them later that the judge had left out some details and kind of smudged the truth a little and the I had told the whole trusth) so they have apologized and both of them have invited me down for a hunt anytime and said if I ever want to hunt at that club again that they will let me stay at their house and hunt with them for anytime I want.

by keeping my cool (don't get me wrong I was VERY P.O.'d but I stayed as calm and collected as I could lol) I ended up making friends, I have even hunted with the other one that was scratched sense then. the only one I haven't talked to was the one that was the judge, dont know if he ever finished his dog or not... sure would like to hunt with that dog again cuz he didnt look BAD but didnt look real good either and from what I have heard he is a pretty nice dog. Sure wish I could remember the guy's name or the dog's name lol
