Coma Dogs

What type of hounds are they? Nose. mouth. accuracy etc... Are there many heavy Coma dogs out there? What lines do they cross well or not so well on? Who was Flatrock out of? Comments appreciated.

big mouths, very, very accurate. Can get a cold track lined out and get treed. Finishes every track it starts. Deadly accurate! No quit!
My dog is directly out of Stylish Coma

Coma goes back to Hardwood Bozo. Most if not all Clover dogs go back to Hardwood Bozo. The Wipeout line of dogs is Coma. They all have been crossed out to make a different line but all have the same foundation. I crossed my Coma female on Nitro blood ( Sackett ) and one time on an old male I owned that had no big name blood in him and had good results with both. If I had a real heavy Coma bred female I would probably look for something with Hardwood Bozo as close as possible. I think it would make some good track dogs, tree dogs, and accurate.

Me Too, If I still did. And Liable to get some overdrive on a running coon and possibly some "come back hyar" on a long winded coon when the track fizzles ( and at some point it will happen here) instead of most Walkers that will just grab a tree and yell "Come git Me". I don't want to come get a dog doing that crap. But Coma dogs don't That i know about. I can tella dog yelling "Come get me" some folks evidently can not. Nor can they say, Let's go get dat Possum. But Coma dogs are preety daggum honest > they don't neccesarily mess with trash but the ones I had Had a place in my pen . It was because they sounded so good on an old track that they would take and work and get it going good. But time after time I saw another UKC breed take over and them go silent. Those big , Beautiful, long legged Coma dogs should never have got kicked out of the pack and just come trotiing along behind. If I had to go back to walkers it would definately be Coma and Sackett. Both for honesty because a dog ought to hush when he is getting left . Back at that time , the sales pitch was a dog will get tight mouth on a Hot coon in order to tree it ahead. And I say BULL SH--. An honest dog shuts up unless he is saying "Come to me, for I have him" and opens. That is why I do not mind and in fact I do like to run six to ten grown dogs together out in the saltmarsh and me be out in it with them. Only on a minute by minute occasion does all dogs be charging in order to catch . Most it is a one dog show for a minute then another gets it and totes it a minute till another gets it and goes with it till it Butt and Hooks Left when it should have gone right and then a five month old pup hits the right end and and opens just right doing his litle part for awhile. If they were MEE TOO Dogs , they would have just all followed the lead dog out on his Left Hook and bin lost for a minute or more but even a pup can get in the action and Help for awhile when they are Honest and bark when they smell it Hot. And again , That is why Silent dogs Suck so much, is because they do not ADD doodally to SH--t. On helping get a hard coon to climb > But they would be lovely on sneaking up on yard squirels is my bet.
