This can happen to you
As some of you know I had three Jagdterrier pups that were taken. It turns out they allegedly squeezed through the fence. The lady that picked them up left a number with a neighbor's daughter who is seven. The neighbor lady was not home that evening they were missing so it was Friday before I received the number. Thursday the night they went missing I had checkd with the neghbors that were home, called animal control, and waited to speak to the humane society on Friday. I called the number and left two messages on Friday, several on Saturday, and after leaving another message I called the police to file a police report that the dogs were stolen. The police came to the house the officer began looking at my kennels questioning me and then said "Your dog looks cold." It was 75 degrees and I had straw in their dog houses. Finally the officer called the number fifteen minutes after the officer called the number I received a phone call from the lady. She then started in about I wasn't a responsble dog owner they were in the street. I explained they hadn't been out before and they slipped through the fence. Now here comes the good part... she had given the pups away on Friday. She said "What type of dogs are they they are insane they were fighting and I thought they were going to kill each otehr. I explained what they are and told her these were not good pets and please tell the people to return them. The first two pups were given to the police the third party refuses and want to get their moeny for their vet bills and kennel they bought. I would have given them a reward but guess what now I am mad because they said I was not a responsible pet owner. I explained my dogs aren't pets and if you keep that dog in six to eight months you will be taking it to the pound because it will kill the neighbors cat and try to eat up your other dogs out of frustration because it wants and needs to hunt. The guy laughed and said he was a good dog trainer. I said, "I am telling you this pup is not that type of dog and I am not buying my own dog back." Currently I am working with an attorney and trying to get the Hoosier Tree dog Alliance to help me because this is crazy. I never keep other people's dogs if I can't reach them I take them to animal control because I figure the person will contact them if they want their dog back because as far as I am concerned that is stealing! I think this has more to do with I am a man that has hunting dogs not pets that do nothing; unfortunatly people think that is what dogs are for.
