Clover Females

Here is a question for you Clover fans.. In your opinion who was the best hunting/reproducing female straight out of Stylish Clover? Is she still alive?

GRNITECH Pine Ridge Julie was the best coondog I've personally seen out of Whitey. The small sample of pups I've seen of hers were pretty darn nice.

Maybe a little off topic but did Mill Creek Molly reproduce well or was she ever bred?

I think it is hard to argue that she wasn't the best female out of Clover with all the money she won.

I never hunted with Molly that's the reason I didn't list her. I believe she was only bred once maybe twice ever. Not sure what she threw. Her sister threw nice dogs of the ones I have hunted with though.

Ron is right, ole Emma was born at his house. I purchased her at about 10 months old. She was a natural. I bred her to Whitey. I hunted Chic and Julie many nights together. Chic would tree 5 coons to Julie's 1 coon. NO LIE!!!

I hunted Chic with Molly's sister Dolly three nights. Chic treed 9 coons and Dolly treed 1. NO LIE!!!

I did draw ole Molly one time with Chic. Chris withdrew after a hour of hunting, Chic had 175+, Molly had 200-. NO LIE!!!

I am not taking anything away from any of the above females, they are are great, great, coon dogs. It is just a statement as to how dominant of a coon dog Chic was when campaigned.

Chic was a dominant reproducer as well. I could go on and on about pups off her, but I will leave it at that.

Please, again, I am not taking anything away from the above females, I am just telling you how their hunts against Chic went.....

chic....

no doubt that chic was the real deal as both a coon dog as well as a great reproducer... she has made a mark in both areas.....

Chic raised 66 pups. 10 GrNtCh and 3 NtCh to date. She was crossed on Harry, Moose, Bad Habit, Stylish Jake, Nite Time Smoke (half brother) and Wrangler.

Chic was a good one in both departments no doubt, but let's not forget Gr Nt Ch Platinum Ch Stylish Cloey. She has more than proven herself as a reproducer, I may be wrong but I think her reproducing numbers edge out chic. But I can say one thing for sure, I never got the pleasure of drawing chic at a hunt to see for myself how nice she was but I can promise she couldn't tree 3 or 4 coons or more to Cloeys 1. And if she did cloey could certainly return the favor the next night.
As for just reproducing goes, I don't think anyone could argue the best reproducing female off of clover was/is Wild Irish Rose, she not to shabby in the woods either.

Chic was also bred to Wessels Wild Casey. Ole Tuff's cross. I have had good luck with Chic pups. I had her here in NC just months before she died, and she was all coondog at her ripe old age.

RRILEY
I have heard nothing but good things about those females. I am sure there are even more nice females out there that have not even been mentioned on here. I think the Babe female that was a sister to Conager is a good one that done some winning and reproduced as well. I am confident there are 10-15 hunters that can get on here and make a strong case for a Clover female that they owned or knew of.

One thing is for sure, I have a lot of great memories while following old Chic and have met a ton of great people!! There are a hand full that I still talk to often and some nearly everyday. She blessed me with some great friends in my life!!

Slacker is out of the Moose and Chic cross. We have had him for 3 years. He has won over 6k in pkc and is a Nt.Ch in ukc and akc. Slacker will be 8 in december and has loss a step or two due to age. He's no world champion by any means but will hold his own with any dog he draws. He is a true pleasure to hunt. Slacker has a long bawl on track, a dying bawl locate and trees with a shorter bawl. I sure wish he could get pups!

My Pine Ridge Spree female off of the Jake X Chic cross (not a big Jake fan, no offense to anyone) is one of the top 3 I have ever had in my kennel. She should be bred to Wipeout Hellbilly semen today. She is not doing to bad herself reproducing. I am hunting a good male out of her and Clayton now. I think that Chic is a product of her mother Pine Ridge Emma. These females is what keeps it running.

Emma was out of a outstanding litter,I enjoyed starting several out of her litter. In my opinion chic is one of the best reproducing females of all time i have a male from chic and smoke that has been treeing coon alone since 7 months old.If they were more breeders an hunters like John Gossett finding a real coondog would be much easier.

I agree. Emma was also a product of her momma, Wessel's Wild Julie. A couple of the nicest females I've hunted with were off Julie, including a female called Grand Nite Ch Ristau's Coon Creek Jenny and another called Nite Ch Ristau's Coon Creek Tina. Jenny was also a heck of a reproducer. Most her pups are / were owned by fur hunters but I think every one ever entered in a nite hunt made Nite Ch and were more than capable of making Grand Nite but it just wasn't a priority by the guys that own them.
