Disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes then re-connect and see if evrything goes back to normal.

I had a 99 Camaro that the ignition wire broke and made the car think it was trying to be stolen. It was either 90$ to put a jumper on and bypass the security system or spend 400$ + to fix it.

I work for ford if the theft lite is flashing it detects that a non programmer key was put in the ignition lock cylinder, are you sure you didn't have 2 keys on your key ring and put the wrong one in are were you by anything high frequency that could have smoked the key,if you have anorther good key it should work if not you will have to get a dealership with an ids to access security and reprogram key! You are welcome to call me in the morning and I will answer any questions you have 571-233-5819 Joe zinn

Hold on to your pocket book if it is the only key. LOL
It is cheaper to have a third key made for some reason. The first key and second are around a hundred bucks here.
I have a 1991 Ranger now. Easy to work on and cheap....

David i've seen you truck. Who would try to steal it? lol. I think i would try the battery thing first, and if that doesn't work, it sounds like the security systyem might be working a little to good.
