What time to turn dogs loose in the summer???

Gota couple quick questions? Seems to me dogs have been having a hard time with cold tracks the past month or so? Are Coons moving before dark? How early? or they moving later in night?? We been turning dogs out from 9 30 till 12 (weeknights) and havn't come across a good track in a while. Coons are thin where I hunt. Just wanted to know what everyone else was having luck with?

summer hunting

An hour or two before daylight is always best.

The coons here are moving at. 3-4 in the afternoon to get water and then 4-7:30 in the morning!!! It has not been below 90 here in the last week and it will be 100 plus fir and sat!!! Last night at 11:30 it was still 89 degrees !! All these temps are without the humidity and that has not gone below 70% bottom line is if your temps are like ours it is to hot and humid to even cut a dog especially if your coon are as thin as mine!! Good luck hopefully cooler days are coming this sucks

Same here potomc It has been well over 90 with the humidity well into the night. I have not turned a dog loose in almost 2 weeks. Not important enough for mr to kill a dog. JMO

I have trailcam set out, and I have pics as early as 5p, and the whole crew usually comes shortly after9p, mother and 4 kittens. A couple others come early morning, makes sense about the heat and moving to get water. 90 degrees out, heat index 97 right now, I am going to wait until 10p to let dogs out. They can cool off in the swamps.

Coondog you must be at the end of my driveway cause that's the same temp I have here and with the humidity tomorrow looking at 110 it's to hot and I think more of my dogs than to push them into a heat stroke!!!!I hunt 6 nights a week and I have hunted less in the last 3 weeks than I have in propably 5 years!! The bad thing is that I am wore out!!! Lol I have been more tired not hunting than I am when I hunt every night!!! Hot and wore out. sucks here a possible Jericho storm is coming on Saturday then then they call for a big cool down it will only be 90 after they say!!!!! Lol 60 days and counting hopefully to 70 degree nights again and actually in these thickets that's hard on the dogs when they run hard!! But I'm having withdrawals!!!!!!

3:30a, 74...heat index 78 now. Much better, dogs running but trouble finishing with all this water in swamps. Still enjoying it, one more drop and crashing.

Exactly the way it is here. Right at dark and after 2am. For the best hunting.
