Mud River Coon Club Youth day......
Our club decided at one of our monthly meetings to hold a youth day. Due to the simple fact....THE YOUTH IS OUR FUTURE!!!! So today was the day. Sadly we only had 6 kids, but those 6 kids had a blast as well as the adults. We started out the evening with bobbing for apples, then we had a pair of bibs, boots, and a hunting light....each kid was timed how long it took them to get ready and run to touch the tree. Coon squalling contest (some sounded like ducks.lol) Then we played a game "pin the tail on the coon" (that was a funny sight)- we spray painted the outline of a coon on a piece of thick posterboard and gave the kids a real coon tail with a pin in it, blind folded the kids, turned them around a couple of times and then let them go.Well of course it's not summer time with out a watermelon eating contest, then last but not least a youth bench show. Then to finish the fun and games we had a youth night hunt. (Good luck kids--it's not all about winning, it's about learning and having fun, and GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP. Each kid was a winner, everyone got ribbons and trophies. We topped off the evening with pizza, pop, cookies, and of course a little football. Good time was had by all......
