Not me, can't even begin to afford that! I feed the green bag Purina Dog Chow mostly and throw some High Standard 26/18 at about a three or four to one ratio (that is 3parts Purina to 1 part High Standard). Their stool is good and they seem to do well on it..............

I also am in the Purina Pro Club and collect those points which give a guy a little money off on all that dog food we buy.......feeding eight to ten dogs is expensive
!

I've actually never used it, but today whilst getting some dry feed I noticed that it was $115!!!. For a 15kilo / 33 lb bag. Here we don't get dog chow we can get purina supercoat range and bonnie range which is about $50 per 20kg / 40 lb bag.

115 for 33lbs is just a little to much for me I'm sure it's good feed but it's just not economical to feed it to a while pack like I have. I've feed just the green bag of purina (dog chow) but u could tell after a few days of long runs the dogs pulled way down, so I went bk to what works for me an that's the yellow bag of diamond in the summer an the green bag once it's cools an I start to run really hard I've even used puppy chow or the diamond puppy durin the season mixed with the green bag. Yellow runs about $20 for 50lbs an bout 24 $ for the green.

Exactly walker a large bag would be lucky to last me 5 days that's with substituting meat and milk with there feed. At 115 dollars a bag my dogs would want to be able to wash down there pens change there straw and clean up after the toilet all by them selves for that price.
But still am curious on the price people are paying?

Pro Plan

I have been feeding Pro Plan Performance to Plotts since it first came out in the mid 80's. I have left it several times but came right back. My dogs have done better on that feed than any other premium feed I have tried. I am paying $38 a bag I think the 37.5lb bag tractor supply Athens GA. with the $7 checks that purina sends me.

They do where I live, I have been feeding Dog Chow for the summer now, ($15 with the rebate check) I got 1 bag left and then I got 5 Purina One bags to try,($28 with the rebate check) not sure I will buy anymore of it, but goina try it during chase season, then probably gona switch back to Pride dog food.

One thing I know to be 100% true, mixing and I mean mixing Dog Chow and Purina One does NOT work. I did that with my last litter of pups and my older dogs as well over the hard months of Dec-Feb and the stool NEVER firmed up, ran right thru them.

Once all my checks and points frizzel out probably goina swith back to Pride feed. I fed the dark green bag of it for a long time before I got on the Purina plan and I really liked it for hard hunting dogs. It was 26/18 I beleive, but in the harder months like Dec-Feb fed the Orange bag, I have also fed the Lime green bag as well. My dogs always did good on it but it has been at least 2 yrs since I have fed any. During that time I also trid the black bag and the white bag, neither of them I liked, but some swear by it.

Pride runs from bottom of the line white bag around $15 thru $25 top of the line orange bag. The dark green and lime green bag runs about the same $22 or 23

CB, you have had better luck than I have mixing the 2 together, I mixed 5 cup dog chow, and 5 cups Purina One and and mixed it well, my dogs had nothing but the runs, couldn't scoop it or rake it, I did the best I could with a shovel and rake, getting what I could for about 2 or 3 solid months. That wasn't just one dog either, that was 12 head at the time, all had loose stool.

I quit mixing it, fed straight Dog Chow and stool firmed back up, still got 5 bags of Purina One, gona start them on it in about a week, that is what it will take to for me to feed a 50 lb bag of Dog Chow to the 9 I got now.

Hopefully I will have the better luck with straight One, and from what I have seen between One and Pro Plan, there isn't that much difference, even in price, with the exception on P P Athlete, thinking it runs around 40 bucks a pop.

P.S. How are the dogs acting on ONE in this heat? Drink more or less water? Expecially when running, notice anything more in there stress level due to the heat by feeding them the ONE? Hope the heat dies down here soon. Got on a big blk rattler the other evening near a water hole, 5 and a button.

Yeah all Sams clubs accept the rebate checks. I dont know about mixing feeds, i've just kept them on the One lamb and rice, and have been feeding it for the past eight yrs or so. They only go 1-2 times a day and its never runny, dogs have shiny coats and lots of energy. nobody carries alot of the better feeds around here anyway,so i've just stuck with whats been working for me.

The best shine on coats and the best stool on my dogs has been with Performance. I liked One but Performance has been the best for my dogs. I do not like the price and that is why I have left Pro Plan Performanc several times. The dogs liked Pro Plan Chicken shereded blend teh best but it did not do what Performance did.
I have feed Eukanuba Premium, Taste of the Wild, Diamond purple bag premium etc....

I'm with you Cameron, too many dogs to not mix. If I only fed three or four hounds it might be different.........

KK 10 cups per feed is that per dog?
Do you guys feed solely dry feed or are you mixing meat , eggs , milk or whatever with your feed? Do you feed lion to the dogs or has that got to many worms?

you are not talking to the right employee, go to customer service and talk to one of those peope, not a check out clerk if it is a problem where you live, it's the same thing as a coupon....be nice.

55 lbs of dog chow at sam's, I can tell you are not feeding dog chow J.R. or at least you are not buying it at Sams, haven't seen that in about 2 yr now.

C.B.?????????? You have seen the my dogs, I think if I fed any less, they would starve to death. I know some folks that are 300 lbs, and eat less than I do, I need more food than some do and all of my dogs need more food than what you are feeding, no matter what I was feeding!

As far as the stool goes you are cleaning, maybe you should keep an eye on the dogs....maybe they are eating a pile and leaving one for you. I am pretty sure I know how much my dogs need to keep going no matter what I am feeding.

Kardinal,

I've been feeding Purina for the last seven yrs. and I like it. We just went again two weeks ago and got a load and it's still $21.48 for 55# before the $7.00 checks. We've all been getting the 55# bags since the 1st of May.

Well honk my whistle, they are packing it in 55 lb bags again, heck I am in the process of feeding my last bag of Dog Chow, and I got 5 Purina One bags left that I am going to feed to half the dogs and some Pride to feed the other half.

I usually buy a ton at a crack when I go to Sams, I know it was well before May but I will check it out soon, thanks for the info, I got 40 checks in the dog folder and several points in the bank. May save'em till the off season when I am not running much. Getting close J.R. getting close.
