scared of coon

i have a 1 and a half year old walker male that will sniff a dead coon and will bite a coon tail. but he is very timid of a caged coon he will run in the other direction. this hound has never been trained... how can i get him to bark and be coon crazy towards a caged coon????

Some dogs just won't bother with a caged coon, there is nothing wrong with them, other then to them, it's not natural. Plus a growling, hissing, animal in a trap is very imtiminating to some dogs.

My female is scared of a coon in a live trap, but has no problem going in on a kill and grabbing her share of hair. Her brother on the other hand went nuts the first coon he seen in a cage and is a flippin' idiot over them. So there you have it, 2 pups that is bred the same but is different.
