UKC Performance Sire half walker/half english?????

This months Treeing walker special issue there is a stud dog on pg.85 directly off Crow and Grants Cutter and a female that goes back to Michigan Swamp Rooster on bottomn side. Just curious of how you can reg. a dog in ukc like this not just that how can you make them a perfomance sire because he is a P. sire and a S.S. sire I understand pkc he is cross bred but i did not know that ukc had a cross bred registry.

So whats your point? They made a walker/english cross and single reg. this dog english. He meets english breed standard, and appearently trees coon. They didnt try to hide anything about the dogs pedigree.

Not saying there is anything wrong with this dog I'm just curious on how the breeding program would work.

I remember in the late 60's or early 70's a person had a dual grand champ. male walker for some reason he single reg. it english. He had to start all over for some reason and made it a dual grand champ. again. Often wondered why he had to start over for grand nite ch. I could see why show ch. again as different standards for different breeds.

i always got it in good time, but i sent in a certificate from rqe and they claimed they didn't get it. so had another one from a different rqe but couldn't find it. so i called them and they looked up the rqe and said they would give me my 2 yrs sub. that was two and a half weeks ago. i'm getting a little aggravated!!!

He is reg English,if you want the pups to be reg.from the get go then you would breed an English female to him. Pups would be reg. english and performance eligable.Only thing is they would not have the "PR" in front of their name.

I dont believe there is anything wrong with how the dog is bred, but i wish they wouldnt call him an English Coonhound, because he isnt. Its amazing how people who whine about Hardrock being a registered B&T, but no one minds about this. If UKC had a Crossbreed breed i believe alot of people would try it. Hell, we'd probably have better crossbred dogs than purebred.

Speck was walker,if Im not mistaken Pedro was half walker.

I think the big fuss over Hardrock was more a color issue,as in throwin a lot of white or high tan pups.English hunters/breeders are'nt as color hyper as other breeds(plus the standard is not one set color) Cross breeding does work and can improve lines within a given breed or the breed as a whole..Though some will refer to these dogs as "genitic mud",these people dont have a clue.I commend the owners of Hooch for doing this on the up and up.Many out there would have just"stuck" papers on this dog.

I'm just glad to see that some of the other breeds are finally starting to see the white. Life will be just a little better for them from now on.

HMMM.....

isn't he out of Cutter??? that means the man with the female was the one doing the breeding... so he must have saw something in "Black and White" so to speak........ IMO... he couldn't have picked a better stud to do it with. Every non-walker owner wants to jump on those tri-colored dogs..... but man they just keep winning.... is there something I'm missing????
