what the heck.....tracker collars and options?

I need help/advice. Sorry for the ignorance here, but I have a tracker classic (bought used) with two collars. I sent the whole "package" to tracker becuase it was not working correctly. Tracker says that the receiver is good....so it must be the collars are bad. Neither collar is a tracker collar. But I cannot find anyone with the frequencies I need. To get collars with different frequencies (than what my receiver currently has)cost $110 each for the factor to change the receiver to fit the collars.
Can I use other makes of collars with the tracker classic? If so, who is the best on getting me a collar (hopefully with tree switch) to match my receiver?
I appreciate the help with this one. This is my first tracker and I am either confused or just plain ignorant...most likely a little of both!

I think the classic will just track two collars, the collars haft to be the wright numbers for the tracker. the collars are not the correct fre and number for the tracker they wont pick up but could still be good collars.

hope this helps

mike

**** that! Garmins are a piece of junk! Lately I've Been telling people that ask me how far the dogs are right after we cut them and you can still hear them walking that I'm gonna shove that handheld so far up their a$$ that the beeping ain't ever gonna stop! Besides that and losing signal way to quick it's perfect to get lost! I reset my garmin set the truck it took me a mile the opposite direction and said I arrived at the truck. I hate it

I will give you $50 for it.

To the O.P., other brands of collars will work as long as the collars match your receiver's receive frequencies. I highly recommend what the other poster said and for you to contact Mike Rivers because he may very well have the collar(s) you need.

The garmin is the best tracker per dollar spent outhere period! I've had marshals and yes they are a good tracking unit but since three years ago I got my gamin there is nothing I would rather have on my dogs nite in and nite out. And I hunt six nites a week so they get used and abused, let's face it they all have problems and usually at the worst possible time but with thar said men hunted for along time with no tracker at all, just a foghorn and didn't have any problems, jmo I will buy your gamin and have never had mine tell a lie yet those satellites and trucks don't move but I' do recalibrate my compass prop ably once a month

i have garmin and tracker. in my opinion, i rather run the beep rather than gps. the reason is, the garmin is good about roads water etc. but the distance and range are not very accurate. so when i hunt i use beep on young dogs and garmin on older dogs. it is all in what you like. but way back we didn't have anykind of trackers. so just having something on them is a piece of mind. something new will come out and all the garmin lovers will not know how they made it without the best new thing lol.

find out what freq the receiver tracks,,the collars should have the freq stamped on them somewhere ,if the collars are the sealed type ,u may have to send them to someone to reinstall new batterys in them..

if you have the freq's of the receiver ,
you can call L.L.ELECTRONICS and get new collars to match your receiver..

i bought my beepbeep from L.L.ELECTRONICS back in 1992 and still useing them today,,
bought 2 more collars to add to my other 2 ,,
i have the 10 channel receiver and 4 collars now,,
i only use the LD rechargeable collars ,
they have some newer versions but i stay with what works for me...
i leave one at the truck and 3 on the dogs,,
haven't lost the truck or the dogs since before 1992..
