rules question

how does 4d relate to 5b? What is 5b saying? If they are not struck in would they have anything to minus? Or are they saying you should use 4g and give them minus tree? I'm confused almost seems to contradict itself?

Those 2 rules go together.

5b just means that if a dog comes into a tree after the judge arrives, then he's not going to get minused UNLESS a coon is seen....

4d tells you what to do if a coon is seen.

So you minus the track if they are struck in and nothing on the tree as long as it ain't a oppossum? 4d says minus on track and nothing on tree if coon is seen.

If they come in to tree AFTER the judge arrives they will not get minused unless a coon is seen. It could be a slick tree or a possum and they still don't get minused.

If they come in to the tree and are treeing but not declared treed when the judge arrives its a different story. If its a coon they are minused on strike just as they would be if they came in after the cast arrived. If its a circle tree, they are circled. If its a slick tree or off game, they are assigned tree points and minused both ways. (Reg. cast rules)

So, when a dog is not declared treed on a tree and shows up late, a judge will look at a couple things to determine how to score the dog. First, is the dog there BEFORE or AFTER the cast arrives? 2nd, how is this tree scored?

Okay, thanks I understand about if they are treeing when judge gets there and they are not declared treed.

What I can't understand is 4d saying minus on track and nothing on tree if seen. Then 5b says no dog to receive minus points unless a coon is seen. Do you minus them on tree then or only on strike?
